The New Year is approaching, which means it's time to start thinking about how you will decorate your holiday tree and how to congratulate your friends. Jewelry and souvenirs made in the style of Hand-Made (handmade) are becoming more and more popular in our country, because this is not a factory production, but a thing made with a soul. Therefore, we bring to your attention a small master class on making a New Year's souvenir with your own hands. You can surprise your colleagues or friends with it, as well as decorate the New Year tree.
To work you will need:
- Tree branch;
- Golden thread - twine (you can take a border);
- Transparent glue;
- PVA glue;
- Scissors;
- Sandpaper;
- Any motive you like (as a rule, a three-layer napkin is taken);
- small loop mount (metal).
Manufacturing process
First you need to get a cut of the tree. To do this, simply cut the branch into pieces, choose the thickness of the product yourself. Of course, it is better if the product is thin (2-3 cm wide, not more) So it will not look bulky and sloppy. Do not make it too small either - it will be inconvenient for you to work on it.
Cut the wood properly, polish with sandpaper. This is necessary so that the image you have chosen does not wrinkle or break.
Now cover the cut with a thin layer of PVA glue. Then carefully cut the motif out of a napkin and put it on the product (this technique is called decoupage). You need to work very carefully so that the paper does not break and does not fold like an accordion. Use a soft cloth or sponge for this. Remember that the material you are working with is very fragile (paper), so do not stretch it or make too harsh movements.
After the product dries, you can decorate the motives with sparkles or other decorative elements. Do not overload the product with rhinestones, sparkles and other things, because a lot does not mean good.
Take the mount and carefully attach it to the souvenir. This is necessary so that in the future it can be hung on a Christmas tree or, for example, a doorknob. This is done as follows: carefully make a small indentation in the tree, fill it with transparent glue and immerse the loop. Let dry properly.
Now take the twine and secure it along the edge of the workpiece using transparent glue. Pass a thin ribbon through the loop and tie it. That's all. Our New Year's souvenir is ready!
There can be many options for making such a decoration, you just need to show a little imagination. The cut can be round, heart-shaped or square, it all depends on your capabilities and preferences. For example, you can do just sparkles and twine. Just clip it to the star-shaped cut and fill the empty space with sparkles.
