DIY ice candlestick, bright photos and a master class

Fire and ice - this combination has always amazed the imagination! It seems completely incredible that they can exist side by side. But the New Year is the time for incredible and magical miracles. Do you want to become a fairy and make an unusual ice candlestick with your own hands? Then let's get started!

You will need:

  • two plastic bottles of different diameters;
  • pure water;
  • berries, spruce branches, leaves or other items of New Year's decor;
  • duct tape;
  • water-soluble food coloring or watercolors (optional).

Cut off the top of the bottles and place them one into the other, as shown in the photo. Secure the inner bottle with adhesive tape so that there is approximately equal distance to the edge of the second bottle.

Put berries, twigs, leaves, or whatever your imagination tells you in the resulting space!

Pour in water, add dye if desired. If the inner bottle starts to float, you can put a small weight in it or additionally secure it with adhesive tape. Now you need to put the entire structure in the cold (in the freezer or outside).

When the water is completely frozen, carefully cut and remove the bottles. If you have any difficulties with this, just wait 5-10 minutes: at room temperature the water will melt and you can easily remove the molds.

Now you can put a small candle inside and enjoy the unusual dance of fire and ice! An ice candlestick will not live in a room for a long time, however, for decoration of a yard (provided that there is a freezing temperature there) or a personal plot is quite suitable. If you live in a city apartment, you can put such a flashlight outside the window: the high walls of the candlestick will protect the fire from the wind, and a cozy light will flicker outside your window. And of course, kids will really like such a candlestick made of ice!

Another way to make an ice candlestick is with a balloon. Using a funnel, pour a little dye into the ball, pour water. Then place the ball in a round bowl in the freezer for 4 hours. Take the future candlestick out of the freezer and remove the ball. The inside of the water will not be completely frozen, so just remove it with a knife or spoon. Place a small candle inside and the ice lamp is ready!

And here are some more ideas. Enjoy your creativity and Happy New Year!
