How can you bring magic into the daily routine of a gray day? This was invented a long time ago, and is used to this day. For this, they began to make masks. They allow on this magical night to change, turn into another person or creature.

New Year's masks attract both children and adults. This does not mean that people of all ages are hiding from reality. They just fulfill the dream of being someone else, becoming mysterious and beautiful (or terrible, whatever they like). After all, together with another disguise, you can try on a different character, a line of behavior, fate. And there, stroking, life will begin to make turns and everything for the better.

Make or buy?

The main thing here is the goal. Why do you need a carnival mask? What do you want to get by wearing it? If you scare your friends, then you are in a specialty store. There is so much there! Any Dracula can be portrayed. If the child wants to be a chanterelle or a bear cub, then you can go shopping, or cut out a cardboard face yourself.

Those who want to add mystery to themselves, and even unleash their creative potential, can make a real carnival mask with their own hands. It is not difficult and interesting. Moreover, a handmade product will be exclusive. After all, it can be made perfect for both the New Year's outfit and the occasion.

What you need:

  • play dough (it is also called modeling mass);
  • scissors, paper;
  • pattern (you can find them at the end of the article);
  • any plastic form in the form of a face;
  • acrylic paints;
  • sequins, beads, feathers, rhinestones for decoration.

First you need to make a template out of paper. Then put it on a thinly rolled sculpting mass. Often, it is difficult to find a lot of white, it doesn't matter, you can use a colored one. You can roll it out with an ordinary rolling pin. The thickness of the layer should be 3-4 mm.

Then, with a sharp dummy knife, we cut off the layer according to the template.

We put what we got on the mold and wait for it to dry completely, usually 12-24 hours, depending on the temperature. Do not dry the product near the battery - it may deform.

Don't forget to punch holes for the rope.

After the Christmas mask has dried, you can paint it with acrylics.

Decorate with a sculpting pattern, glue crystals and rhinestones.

From above it can be decorated with feathers.
