Christmas coffee bean topiary
By the New Year 2024, you can give the tree a New Year's look and make it in the shape of a Christmas tree. Coffee beans must be of the same size and degree of roasting so that the finished craft looks harmonious.
Prepare the necessary materials:
- coffee beans;
- string;
- scissors;
- long skewer;
- burlap;
- cardboard sheet (A4);
- cotton wool or crumpled newspaper;
- liquid glue;
- gypsum;
- small houseplant pot;
- decor (optional).
Skewer can be replaced with a pencil or sushi stick.
Stages:
- Decorate the pot by wrapping it with burlap and twine. You can additionally use glue to fix it.
- Fill the container with plaster.
- Cut out 2 circles from cardboard, different sizes. The diameter of one of them should correspond to the desired height of the future Christmas tree.
- Roll the largest part into a cone and glue the edges well.
- The second circle should be slightly larger in diameter than the base of the resulting Christmas tree base. In the center of this element, make a hole to insert the barrel, and cut along the edges with scissors.
- After the glue is completely dry, fill the cone crown with crumpled newspaper or cotton.
- Insert the barrel in the form of a skewer, stick or pencil into the round base and glue the bottom of the Christmas tree. Leave the product for a while until the glue dries completely.
If you do not have the desire or ability to make a crown yourself, you can use a foam cone.
- Coarsely coat the surface of the crown and trunk with glue and tightly wrap it with twine, on which also apply an adhesive component.
- Glue the coffee beans so that the convex side of each is on the outside. You can arrange them in a checkerboard pattern, then turn half of the grains on the other side. Keep the space between them as small as possible.
Finally, make a New Year's decor using beads or rhinestones. As a star on the top of the spruce, you can fix the star anise.

Fruit tree
Tangerine topiary is considered one of the traditional New Year trees, because these fruits are associated with the onset of a magical period. It is better to give preference to small fruits so that the resulting product looks neat.
Prepare:
- tangerines;
- basis for the trunk;
- real or artificial green leaves;
- small spruce twigs;
- foam ball;
- string;
- scissors;
- flower pot or mayonnaise bucket;
- glue;
- stationery knife;
- thin flexible wire.
You will also need some sugar or s alt to simulate frost.
Stages:
- Fill a pot or bucket with plaster and insert the barrel in the middle.
- Tie each tangerine with several layers of twine crosswise.
- Divide the wire into small pieces, the number of which should correspond to the number of tangerines.
- Bend each resulting piece slightly and thread it through the fixed twine on the fruit.
- Use a Styrofoam ball as a crown. Fix the fruits on it with a wire, reducing the distance between them to a minimum.
- Decorate the structure with green leaves in the same way.
- Attach the crown to the trunk.
- After the plaster becomes hard, cover the base with fir branches, moisten each of them with glue and sprinkle with sugar or s alt. The Christmas tree is ready.
Christmas Topiary
Topiary made of Christmas decorations perfectly conveys the New Year's mood. Suitable for decorating the interior of a house or a festive table. It can be used as a gift for New Year 2024.
Prepare:
- tinsel;
- thermo gun with glue;
- scissors;
- foam ball;
- Christmas toys made of plastic in different sizes;
- double sided tape;
- alabaster or plaster;
- spruce twigs;
- container for the base of the tree;
- shiny fabric or foil;
- satin ribbons;
- thick wire.
Cones can be used to create decor.
Stages:
- Wrap the balloon with cloth or foil.
- Affix Christmas decorations to it with double-sided tape, leaving some free space for other decor.
- Fill the remaining voids with cones, twigs and tinsel, from which you can form small balls.
- Sprinkle spruce branches with sparkles or spray artificial snow as desired.
- Make a slightly bent trunk by wrapping the wire with ribbons, intertwining them in an original way.
- Pour a solution of gypsum or alabaster into the base container and insert the resulting trunk.
After the mass hardens, secure the crown by inserting the wire into the decorated Styrofoam ball.

From lollipops
To make a DIY New Year's topiary for 2024, it is advisable to use candies with red stripes and green beads or ribbons for decor, since the combination of these colors is associated with the new year.
Prepare:
- stick;
- double-sided tape or duct tape;
- lollipops;
- satin ribbon or jute;
- foam ball and cube;
- container for base.
Stages:
- Insert a Styrofoam cube into the prepared container.
- Wrap the stick with satin ribbon or jute and insert it into the central part of the base.
- Wrap the ball with double-sided tape or duct tape and fix the lollipops on it. Make sure they fit snugly together.
- Additionally, you can decorate the crown with green beads or ribbons.
Connect all parts of the tree.

Crafting Tips
The crown should be larger than the base. To create it, it is better to use foam, floral sponge or cardboard. Pay special attention to the choice of the base for the topiary, the bottom of which should be flat and wide. To make it heavy, the container should be filled with plaster, alabaster or cement. The dried surface can be decorated with artificial stones of different colors, spruce branches, tinsel, beads or cones. The trunk is made of wire, branch, stick or pencil. For additional fixation, it is better to use thermoplastic glue.
