Holidays and weekends are the longest awaited time for any student, so many want to know in advance what the calendar will be for the 2021-2022 academic year and how many weeks to study.

However, everything is not so simple, because there are no exact dates for the beginning and end of school holidays. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation establishes only the recommended schedule of rest, but closer to the holidays themselves, their days may shift.
The academic year in schools in all regions of Russia, as always, will begin on September 1, 2021 (Wednesday) and end on May 31, 2022.
There are a number of regulations governing how many weeks of the year schoolchildren should rest and how much to study, and in the 2021-2022 academic period, calendars will be subject to these norms.
Important! Pupils must spend at least 34-36 weeks at their desk annually. First graders are given a little indulgence. Their study period will last 33 weeks.
When planning school holidays in 2021, it is necessary to observe a number of parameters that are mandatory:
- students begin to rest on Monday;
- free time dates can be shifted by no more than two weeks;
- summer vacations last at least two months;
- if you do not take into account summer vacations, then the duration of all free time per year should not exceed 30 days.

The most common in Russia today is the quaternary system, well known to everyone since Soviet times. The educational process is divided into 4 parts (quarters), separated by short periods of rest.
To find out reliably how many weeks schoolchildren have to spend at their desk in the 2021-2022 academic year, just look at the vacation calendar for the quarter (semester) education system:
- autumn holidays - from October 25 to October 31, 2021;
- winter (New Year) holidays - from December 27, 2021 to January 9, 2022 inclusive;
- spring break - from April 4 to April 10, 2022;
- summer holidays - from May 26 to August 31, 2022

There is good news for first graders and pupils of special schools! The coming year will give them additional vacations from 14 to 20 February 2022. This respite will help the younger grades avoid the strenuous workload of their first school year.

Today, more and more educational institutions are trying to switch to the semester method of teaching. Thus, already from school, the teaching staff prepares the student for the university attendance regime. During the school year, children study for 5-6 weeks, and then they receive a week of free days. The exception is the New Year holidays, where children are given two weeks of carefree time.

Possible changes
The management of the training institution can draw up an individual vacation plan. But strictly observe the basic requirements of the legislation.
