After a long lull caused by coronavirus restrictions, many automotive giants are starting to increase production volumes, which means it's time to ask what new cars can be seen in car dealerships in Europe, America and in 2023-2024. In this article, we have collected the most anticipated novelties of the global automotive industry and will tell you what new cars of well-known brands will be interesting for, what technical innovations they will receive and what the estimated price of cars with internal combustion engines, hybrids and all-electric variations will be.
Audi
In the near future, Audi will launch a number of updated models on the market.The updated line shows a steady trend away from internal combustion engines in favor of switching to hybrid and all-electric power plants. So, Audi announces a complete transition to an ecological type of fuel by 2030.
Audi A5 Coupe
In 2023, an updated version of the popular A5 coupe will be on sale. The car has become even more sporty, acquired aggressive features and significantly updated both externally and in terms of technical characteristics.
The market will offer an all-wheel drive model with a 2.0-liter petrol turbo engine with power from 150 to 250 hp. and 7-speed S-tronic.
Also available in Europe:
- 190 hp diesel engine;
- 354 hp 3.0L V6
The price of the A5 coupe on the market is expected to be within ₽ 2,930,000 - 3,865,000.
Audi Q8 E-Tron
The new flagship of Audi in 2024 may be the updated crossover Q8 E-Tron, which will receive a more modern design, will be presented in two variations - a classic body (pictured) and a coupe.
Among the reported improvements:
- total power of the power plant is 250 kW;
- reduced drag coefficient (0.27 cx);

Audi S4 Avant
In 2024, the next generation of the S4 Avant station wagon is expected. The novelty is already being tested on the roads, and the first photos are actively discussed by the automotive community.
Of the obvious changes worth noting:
- more aggressive exterior;
- new grille;
- improved optics;
- 4 exhaust pipes in (2×2) format;
- new steering wheel;
- digital dashboard;
- large touch screen multimedia system.
What kind of power unit we will see under the hood of the novelty has not yet been announced.Connoisseurs of the S4 Avant hope that it will be a well-known 3-liter diesel with 350 hp, but due to the new vector that the company has taken, it is possible that a completely new engine option will be offered to replace the diesel.
Audi Q5 Hybrid
Serial production of the new hybrid crossover, which will become the next generation of the popular Q5 model, is scheduled for 2024, but already in the middle of 2023, the manufacturer promises to officially introduce the new product, revealing all the technical characteristics. At the moment, the car is being tested and on the network you can find a photo of a camouflaged prototype.
It is worth noting that the manufacturer prudently stated that the design of the tested car has nothing to do with the production version. At the moment, it is only known that the crossover will be a plug-in hybrid based on a 2.9-liter gasoline V6, which is planned to be equipped with an S-tronic gearbox.
Since Audi is in no hurry to show renderings, designers vying to offer their own versions of the expected new exterior.
BMW
Bayerische Motoren Werke AG also plans to launch noteworthy cars on the market in 2023-2024.
BMW X5
The popular crossover is expecting a massive restyling. The updated model can be expected in showrooms as early as 2024.
The car inherited a lot from its predecessor, but also received a number of significant updates, thanks to which it will definitely not be confused with an outdated version:
- new grille;
- narrow LED optics;
- updated bumpers with large air intakes;
- unique design wheels.
Under the hood of an all-wheel drive SUV, a 530-horsepower hybrid system based on a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8, complete with an 8-speed automatic, is supposed to be installed.
The sale of the updated X5 will start in 2023. The price will start at $ 64,000, but whether it will appear on the market is still unknown.
BMW X1
In 2023, sales of the third generation of the X1 compact crossover are expected, which will also receive an all-electric version of the iX1. Both cars will receive a similar exterior (differences will be noticeable only in colors), the main recognizable features of which will be:
- stylish running lights in inverted L format;
- aggressive bumper design with large air intakes;
- innovative hidden door handles;
- spectacular rims (from 17 to 20 inches depending on configuration).
Under the hood of the petrol version will be a 2.0-liter 218-horsepower engine. Diesel engine power will be increased from 197 to 211 hp
It is possible that a plug-in hybrid based on a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 136-150 hp will also be released. Depending on the configuration, such models can produce a total of 245 or 326 hp.
The price of the basic configuration of the updated X1 will start at $38,600
BMW iX1
The all-electric version will get only one version so far - the crossover will get xDrive30 all-wheel drive with two electric motors.
The total power of the power plant will be 272 hp. (with the ability to briefly produce 313 hp), and a 64.7 kWh battery will ensure its stable operation.
Declared autonomous mileage - 438 km.
The price of an all-electric crossover in Europe starts at €55,000.
BMW i5
The all-electric BMW i5 is also expected in the second half of 2023.
The exterior of the novelty will receive design elements in the spirit of the new concept of the 2023-2024 car generation with a large grille and narrow LED optics.
The power plant will most likely be borrowed from the i7, but with some modifications.
BMW X7
The serial version of the restyled BMW X7 is completely declassified and will be available to customers as early as 2023.
The photo shows noticeable visual changes, such as:
- two-level optics, which, depending on the configuration, can be LED or matrix;
- radiator grille with large nostrils and stylish lighting;
- changed bumper;

BMW Vision Dee

Volkswagen
Volkswagen's lineup in 2023-2024 will be replenished with reliable and roomy SUVs, as well as eco-friendly urban electric cars.
VW Tavendor
The new large SUV Tavendor, which is already available for order, is based on the Teramont X.
Outwardly, the novelty will be designed in the classic style of the brand with the well-known design of the front and classic optics, smoothly flowing into a narrow radiator grille.

VW Tiguan
Will complement the new Volkswagen cars in late 2023 or early 2024 and the updated Tiguan, which is currently being tested on the roads of Scandinavia.
The 3rd generation car will delight fans of the model with several updates at once:

- large-scale digitization of the salon;
- high performance on-board electronics;

Hybrid versions will be based on the same modifications, supplemented by electric motors. The total power of the hybrids has not been announced, but the manufacturer promises that they will be able to overcome up to 100 km on pure electric traction.
VW e-Up (ID.1)
In 2023, VAG also plans to launch compact urban electric cars, such as the agile and economical e-Up.
The updated 2024 model will be presented in two versions - with batteries with a capacity of 24 and 36 kWh. The autonomous mileage of such a baby will be 350 km, which is more than a good indicator for a city electric car.
At the same time, the model can get not only a completely new exterior, different from the car of the previous generation, but also a new name - Volkswagen ID.1.
The car will be assembled until 2024 at a plant in Spain, and the price of the novelty in terms of the steering wheel should be about ₽1,200,000.
VW Arteon
Premium car of the Gran Turismo series will be radically updated in 2023. The novelty will be available in fastback or station wagon bodies.
The main highlights of the novelty shown in the photo will be:
- refined design with current trends in 2023-2024;
- premium trim materials;
- package of the most innovative options;

Volkswagen Arteon price in Germany starts from €46,400. Whether Russia will receive such cars and if so, what will be the price tag for Arteon in domestic car dealerships is still unknown.
Mercedes
The presentation of new products that Mercedes-Benz plans to bring to the market sets a certain vector for the development of the automotive world for the next few years. So, new car models that will appear throughout 2023 and 2024 will be equipped with either hybrid installations or all-electric systems.
Mercedes EQS SUV
The premium SUV Mercedes-Maybach should be a production model in 2023.
In addition to the luxurious design and exclusive interior, the new SUV will also receive impressive technical characteristics.
So, the fully electric version will be equipped with:
- all-wheel drive system;
- electric installation with a total output of 544 hp;
- 107.8 kWh battery.
EQS SUV claimed autonomous mileage of 600 km.

Mercedes eCitan
Along with premium lines, Mercedes will also produce practical T-Class cars.
The prototype of the new compact van, recently presented, received an extended chassis from Renault Kangoo, as well as:

- ultra-time dashboard and multimedia system touchscreen display;
- panoramic roof;
- big 21" rims;
- spectacular black and white interior palette;
- modern all-electric installation under the hood.
Of course, the production model can only get some of the declared options, so we'll wait a bit to understand what the eCitan will be like, whether it will go on the market and what the price of the base and charged version will be.
Mercedes EQG (G-Wagon)
The G-class electric modification should appear on the market as early as 2024. The prototype of the new "Gelika" has already been presented, but it's hard to say what its serial version will be.
The all-wheel drive G-Class will not only retain its off-road qualities after switching to electric traction, but will also acquire the characteristic features of a sports AMG, because the car is planned to be equipped with four electric motors - one for each wheel.
The new generation of G-Class cars will receive:
- spectacular exterior in the style of electric Mercedes;
- a new transmission that fully mimics the functionality of the differential lock system;
- 22" wheels;
- 100kWh battery for 483km range.
The start of sales of the updated Gelentvagen is scheduled for the second half of 2024, so it's too early to talk about the price of a premium electric SUV.
Peugeot
The French brand will also please motorists with several bright novelties.
Peugeot 408
A new generation of Peugeot's flagship will roll off the assembly line in 2023.
The new coupe-shaped crossover will receive cutting-edge design and advanced equipment.
In addition to the base modification, equipped with a standard gasoline 1.2-liter turbocharged engine with 130 hp, hybrid versions will also be available (180 and 225 hp depending on modification) based on 1.6- liter engine.
An 8-speed automatic EAT8 is assumed for all cars.
The release of the new Peugeot 408 is planned to be organized at two plants - the first (European) is located in the French town of Mulhouse, the second (Chinese) - in Chengdu.
Peugeot 3008
Another popular French crossover will get a major update by 2024.
It is expected that the next generation 3008 will receive not only a revolutionary exterior in the spirit of the new Peugeot concept, but also numerous technical improvements that will affect the main components and assemblies of the car.
Pending innovations also include a new coupe version of the body, which should give the model a sportier and more dynamic look.
Under the hood - only hybrid units, including "soft" options equipped with 48-volt systems.
What will definitely not be in the new 3008 Peugeot is diesel engines.
Toyota
The most popular Japanese brand in 2023-2024 will most likely be launched from abroad, but this will definitely not stop brand connoisseurs, because Toyota plans to offer new items really worthy of attention in the near future.
Toyota Crown
Premium sports car that should launch a new family, which is planned to produce a sedan, crossover, station wagon.
Unlike its predecessor, the new Crown is no longer a sedan, it attracts attention with an unusual body shape, bright colors and aggressive sporty styling.
All cars will get hybrid powertrains. Two variations are announced (both of them produce 272 hp in total):
- 2.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine + electric motor on the rear axle;
- 2.5-liter petrol aspirated + 2 electric motors.
In Japan, the price of the novelty will vary between the equivalent of 1,800,000 - 2,600,000 rubles, but what the cost of Crown 2023 for European countries may be or is still unknown.
Toyota Tacoma
Toyota will launch a new version of the Tacoma pickup truck in 2024.
In addition to the 2.7-liter inline and 3.5-liter V6, cars will also be introduced with a hybrid installation, but hydrides are likely to be added to the lineup closer to 2025.
Domestic car novelties
In 2023-2024, car companies also plan to introduce new models. Although the development of new cars will become even more difficult due to the growing sanctions pressure, the designers are not giving up on new ideas.
Moskvitch 3
If many of the new products announced in previous years remained on paper or in render format, then Moskvich will really leave the assembly line in 2023, because cars have already begun to be assembled at the Moscow Automobile Plant.
Technically new for the subcompact crossover of the Moskvich brand is just a slightly modified Chinese JAC JS4. Nevertheless, the car will definitely find its buyer in the domestic market, because it has a stylish exterior with two-level optics, stylish streamlined body shapes and angular wheel arches with a plastic body kit that give the car an aggressive touch, hinting at off-road qualities.At the same time, the clearance of the model is 170 mm, and the drive is only front.
One of the declared power units will be located under the hood:
- 1.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol with 109 hp. + manual;
- 1.5-liter turbo four with 150 hp + CVT Punch VT3S;
- DY Power Technology electric motor with modest 68 hp and 55 kWh battery.
With all the advantages, the price of the Moskvich-3 crossover will not be very low. A modification with a manual transmission will cost ₽1,970,000, a version with a CVT - ₽2,035,000, and an electric one - about ₽2,500,000.
Lada Vesta
In 2023, a restyled version of the Lada Vesta is expected to leave the assembly line. The first photos of the novelty have already appeared on the network, and it is already obvious that AvtoVAZ decided not to invest heavily in finalizing the exterior and the car retained the characteristic X-style in the design of the bumper and side stampings.
From announced updates:
- larger logo;
- redesigned grille;
- vertical stampings on the trunk lid;
- new rims.
For the FL version of Vesta 2023, a digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen display for controlling the functionality of the multimedia system, as well as a package of intelligent systems for safety and driver assistance are also announced.
The engine range for Lada Vesta will remain the same:
- 1.6 liter 106 hp petrol engine + manual transmission;
- 1.6 liter 113 HP Renault engine + CVT;
- 1.8-liter 122-horsepower gasoline engine + manual transmission;
- 1.6 liter dual-fuel engine capable of 106 hp. on gasoline or 96 hp when using metaa;
- 1.8 liter 145 hp for Sport version.
The price of the model, depending on the modification and configuration, will vary from 1,100,000 to 1,400,000 rubles.
Evolute i-Joy
While domestic automakers are only thinking about whether their new products will appear or whether projects will be postponed until better times, Chinese brands are actively occupying vacated niches in the market. For example, Dongfeng Motor is opening a subsidiary in Lipetsk, where new models of the Evolute brand will be assembled.
The Evolute i-Joy electric car will be the first to roll off the assembly line, in which it is not difficult to recognize the Chinese model Dongfeng Fengon E3.
The car has a completely modern design, a good set of options, including a virtual dashboard and a multimedia system touch pad.
The fact that the crossover is still a budget one will give out artificial leather trim and plastic quality.
The car will be powered by an electric motor mounted on the front axle, developing 163 hp
It will be possible to buy such a crossover for 2,565,000 rubles, taking into account the price set by the manufacturer at 3,490,000 and a 35% discount under the state program of preferential lending.
Evolute i-Pro
The second electric model of the new domestic brand Evolute will be the i-Pro sedan, which will be based on the technical solutions of the Chinese model Dongfeng Aeolus E70.
A characteristic feature of the Evolute i-Pro will be the presence of a plug instead of the classic radiator grille, otherwise the exterior of the sedan is quite classic.
Among the pluses worth noting:
- 17" rims;
- modern dashboard and multimedia tablet;
- stylish multimedia steering wheel design;
- presence of a number of popular modern options.
The budget will be talked about:
- dependent torsion beam on the rear axle;
- impossibility to transform interior (back row doesn't fold)
- max speed 145 km/h
Under the hood is an electric motor with a capacity of 163 hp. and a battery of 53 Wh, which will provide the car with about 433 km of autonomous mileage.
