Beautiful DIY paper crafts (130 photos): step-by-step instructions for adults and children + diagrams of how to fold

Nowadays, making beautiful volumetric paper crafts is very popular. If you type in a search engine: "photos of beautiful paper crafts", then on the Internet there are hundreds and thousands of different pictures.

This means that the art of making such crafts is in demand. Many of these products are for sale in online stores.

But it is always much more interesting to make a beautiful craft with your own hands, regardless of what it is made of, paper, or some other material.

Craft paper making techniques

In order for paper crafts to come out easy and beautiful, to please with their final result, there are many different techniques.

You can name a few, very simple and a little more complicated:

  1. Application, which consists in cutting out of paper and alternately gluing fragments to the base;
  2. Decorating, which has already been mentioned, can be used to transform ordinary household items into unique ones. With the help of paper clippings, you can create ornaments and various images (decoupage).
  3. Paper folding technique to create volumetric figures - origami. This can be from a simple airplane or boat to a composition of several separate parts, when individual parts are folded in the classical way, and then inserted into another part (modular origami), with or without glue.

Description of the creation of crafts "Primrose"

In the description, you will learn how to make a beautiful paper craft using the example of a primrose (look at the photo).

Required:

  1. A sheet of soft blue paper (for the petals). You can make a flower pure white, from ordinary office paper.
  2. Scissors.
  3. Stationery glue or glue stick.
  4. A piece of thin (about 1 mm in diameter) flexible wire (for the stem), 20 cm long. You can find ready-made floristic wire already wrapped in green corrugated paper on sale.
  5. A little green corrugated paper for the leaf and for the braiding of the flower stem (as an option, you can do this with thick green threads).

You make each flower using the modular origami technique, from three identical trefoil parts.

Perform manufacturing according to this detailed description, in stages, and a beautiful paper craft will surely please both you and someone close to you!

Preparation of modules.

  1. Prepare (cut out of paper) 3 squares with a side of 4 cm (for a start, it is better to practice making a module from a larger square).
  2. Take a square piece of paper. Fold it diagonally with the painted side inward and unfold it again.
  3. Lay it so that the fold is vertical and the outside of the fold is on top. The painted side should be on the bottom. Fold the edges of the square towards the middle so that they “meet” on the fold line, forming a kind of “flaps”. Smooth out with your fingers.
  4. Then lift the remaining corner of the lower triangle up to the line of the base of the upper triangle, bend and tuck into the triangle, opening its "flaps". Smooth out with your fingers.
  5. It turned out to be a blue triangular envelope. We are not turning anything over yet.
  6. Now bend the lower left corner again to the middle axis, smooth it a little, then immediately straighten it again and, opening the left "flap" of the main triangle, tuck the corner inward along the lines of the resulting fold (the fold lines will change direction).
  7. Do the same with the right corner.
  8. All this time, the figurine lay on the table in the same direction and on the same back side.
  9. Now it needs to be turned upside down, i.e. the obtuse angle will be on top.
  10. On the right and left, we simply turn down the protruding parts along the already existing fold lines.
  11. And - we turn the figure with its back side - towards us.
  12. Now is the last stage. Fold the right edge and the left in turn towards the middle of the center vertical axis. In this case, straighten the back layer of paper (small petals) up. It is necessary that the ends of the small petals fold correctly. The result is a trefoil module.

Make three such modules and start assembling the primrose.

Assembling a flower

Apply glue to the right small tab of one module and insert it into the pocket under the left small tab of the second module. Align the small petals of the modules with each other and glue them.

  1. In the same way, glue the third module to the second and, in turn, similarly connect the third module to the first one by closing it in a ring (the third gluing will have to be done "on the weight" so as not to spoil the shape of the future flower). A small hole should remain between the modules at the base of the flower.
  2. The flower head is ready. It remains to attach a stalk with a leaf.
  3. The stalk is made with a thickening on one side. To do this, at a distance of 1 cm from the end of the wire, wind tightly a little corrugated paper 1 cm wide (cut the strips in the transverse direction), then bend the left end, wrap it, make a thickening at the end of the wire.
  4. Continue winding the paper to the end of the wire. Coat the joints of the strips with glue to fix the paper.
  5. Insert the prepared wire with a thin end from the inside of the flower into the hole to the place of thickening (this is where the stamens with a pistil are located at the flower). Fix the flower on the stem, making a thickening at the base outside the flower with the same corrugated paper (0.5cm x 15cm), forming a receptacle and securing it with glue.
  6. Cut a 1x6cm piece of paper out of corrugated paper and glue it to the leg.
  7. Bend the stem, giving the flower the desired slope.

If you make several flowers, fasten them with a ribbon, you get a bunch that can be put in a decorative vase. Happy Holidays!
