Trout (salmon) steaks in a pan - honey photo recipe

We offer an unusual recipe for cooking red fish steak in a frying pan - in a caramel glaze made from honey and apple juice. You may think that the fish will be sweet, but in fact, this glaze will only add spice to the dish.

First you need to make the glaze by boiling apple juice and honey, then marinate the steaks in it, and after that, all that remains is to fry them in a pan. Let's get started!

Ingredients:

  • 2 large trout or salmon steaks (you can cut them in half);
  • half a glass of apple juice;
  • 1.5 s.l honey;
  • olive oil for frying;
  • 2 teaspoons lemon
  • black pepper;
  • salt;
  • lemon slices for decoration.

Cooking.

Combine the apple juice and honey and cook in a small saucepan until the mixture is about half reduced. Cool it down.

Pour the syrup into a bowl and place the steaks in it, one side down. Turn the pieces over after five minutes. You can use fish with or without skin.

Heat olive oil in a deep skillet over high heat. Sprinkle the fillets with salt and place in the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes. Then turn the steaks, drizzle with the remaining honey syrup, drizzle with lemon juice, reduce heat to medium and cook for another 5-6 minutes.

Garnish the finished dish with lemon slices and pepper. Best served with fresh vegetable salad. Bon Appetit!
