Olivier salad - a classic photo recipe with sausage

What New Year's celebration can do without the classic "Olivier" with sausage and pickles? For many years, housewives from all over the post-Soviet space have been decorating festive tables with this unpretentious, but so truly dear and delicious dish! This salad with pickled cucumbers has long become an integral attribute of the New Year, like Santa Claus and Snow Maiden or the well-known film “Irony of Fate or Enjoy Your Bath”.

For many of us, "Olivier" with sausage reminds of a carefree childhood and youth. Then there were no special delights on the tables, but the mood of the celebrants was always upbeat and everyone expected some kind of miracle. The spirit of the holiday was felt in every home, in the mixing of the aroma of spruce with exotic notes of tangerine and in the smiles of young children who received the cherished sweets at New Year's parties.

Ingredients:

  • boiled low-fat sausage - 300 g;
  • pickled cucumbers - 3-4 pcs.;
  • boiled chicken eggs - 4 pcs.;
  • jacket potatoes - 2-3 pcs.;
  • boiled carrots - 1 pc .;
  • canned peas - 1 can;
  • mayonnaise - 150-180 g.

Recipe

  • First you need to take boiled sausage without lard and remove the wrapper from it. Cut the sausage into medium-sized cubes. The ingredients should not be saved on this, because it is he who sets the taste for the whole salad. It is necessary to purchase a high quality product for the salad.

  • Peel the boiled eggs and cut into cubes of the same size as the sausage.

  • Peel the skin off the boiled carrots. Grind the vegetable into small cubes and add to the salad.

  • You should do the same with potatoes. First, peel off the peel, and then chop the peeled root crop.

  • Now you need to add the diced pickles. Classic "Olivier" without this ingredient will not be the same!

  • Next, you need to open a jar of canned green peas and add it to the salad, after removing the liquid contained in the jar.

  • Before serving "Olivier" according to the classic recipe, it should be seasoned with mayonnaise. The quantity can be varied at your discretion. You should not add trusted salt, because the dish contains pickles. And mayonnaise contains a sufficient amount of salt.
