- by issuing reunification with relatives (if relatives have a residence permit in the states);
- finding an official place of work;
- having received political asylum;
- becoming the winner of the DV lottery.
It is extremely difficult to use the first four points. The easiest way to get a green card is to win it. There are so many people who want to get a green card that it significantly reduces the chances of winning. But this does not mean that you should miss the opportunity.
How to win a Green Card in 2022
To try your luck, you need to take part in the DV-lottery. The program is called DV-2022. To participate you will need:

Who can participate

Country of birth
This parameter plays an important role. Do not take into account citizenship or actual place of residence. Attention is drawn to the territory where the person was born. For example, if a person was born in Minsk in 1986, and now lives in Kharkov, then he will play not from Ukraine, but from Belarus.
Persons born in the currently disputed territories play from the country for whom the official position of the United States was recognized. Let's say Transnistria is recognized by the US Foreign Ministry for Moldova.
If the country where the person was born does not take part in the lottery, and there are as many as 20 such states (including China, India, etc.), then you can use the country of birth of your husband or mother.

Age and education
Age restrictions are not specified.

- The screen will display “Success”, a confirmation number and a sequence of characters (digital signature).
Errors in filing an application: what is important to know
The application can be submitted every year. A lot of people are being screened out for failing to comply with standards, so it is important that the application strictly meets all the requirements. After sending the application, it is no longer possible to correct anything in the application form. When the results appear, it will not indicate why the application was disqualified.
A common problem is filling out errors. Obtaining a serial number is not a guarantee that the system will skip the questionnaire further. By submitting the questionnaire in the fall, the results will be known only in the spring. But many questionnaires are not allowed to the drawing itself, since they do not pass the algorithm check.

- Incomplete information. Registration takes half an hour, so many do not have time to enter all the information or make grammatical mistakes. The questionnaire is filled out in English, which complicates the task. Plus, in an attempt to be in time in due time, you can forget to fill in some field.
- The photo does not meet the standards. For this reason, most of the applications are excluded. The system accepts any image, the main thing is to match the size.But then a strict algorithm disqualifies those applications where the photo does not fit at least one of the parameters from a long list of requirements. Head tilt, looking in the wrong direction, background tone can all play against you.
- Invalid data. Inaccuracy is interpreted as deception. Winning the lottery does not guarantee that you will be given a green card. It's just an opportunity to take part in the next step. After the victory, all data is carefully checked at the Embassy. The slightest inconsistency will result in a rejection and cancellation of the rally.
There must be a passport. Since October 2019, changes have been made to the application submission. Since 2020, the presence of a valid passport is a prerequisite. After the innovation, due to the lack of a document, the number of participants was almost halved.
