Health Day 2022: what date, date

Health Day 2022 is an important social date that is celebrated in all corners of Russia. The holiday has its own history and traditions.

When the holiday is celebrated

World Health Day is celebrated on April 7th. The holiday has existed all over the world for more than 70 years, but it is not recognized as an official day off.

history of the holiday

The country's authorities have long been concerned that the death rate is higher than the birth rate. In this regard, numerous studies have been carried out in which physicians and sociologists have tried to determine the causes of short life expectancy and morbidity. Experts have come to the conclusion that one of the reasons for frequent illnesses and high mortality is the conniving attitude of people to their physical and mental state.

They say that if there is strength in the body and in the soul, there will be everything else. High rates of physical and mental well-being of a person determine the quality of his life and the stability of his psycho-emotional state. People rarely think about maintaining health and taking preventive measures. As a rule, they begin to think about this when the first signs of the disease have already appeared. However, preventing the disease is easier than treating it.

A project aimed at preserving the health of the nation and caring for the environment was created by the World Health Organization in the middle of the 20th century. Thus, WHO has determined the date when events dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle will be held: it coincided with the founding date of the World Health Organization. Until 1950, activities aimed at preserving and strengthening the health of the nation were held on July 22, as they were timed to coincide with the ratification of the WHO Constitution.

Health Day in April is celebrated not only by the country, but also by other countries. So, over time, the All-Russian Day of Health became international. Health Day 2022 will be celebrated on April 7 in almost all countries of the world.

Objective of the project

The project proposed by WHO pursues such goals as:

  • propaganda of the correct way of life;
  • encouraging people to give up bad habits;
  • preservation and strengthening of human health;
  • collegial solution of problems arising in the field of medical care;
  • drawing public attention to health problems;
  • creating conditions for receiving high-quality and free medical care.

Today, a concept has been developed for the development and modernization of the healthcare system for the period up to 2030. In this regard, every year the world holiday is held under one or another slogan. For example:

  • "Ensuring the availability of medical care";
  • “Health is the greatest value”;
  • “Coverage of health services for all categories of the population”;
  • "Mental health problems of the nation";
  • "Diabetes: a verdict or not?";
  • "Longevity: Myth or Reality?"
  • "Rational nutrition as the most important condition for the health of the nation."

The theme of the holiday, as a rule, is chosen in February, based on the most pressing problems in the field of medicine.
