Teacher salaries in 2022: latest news

The salary of teachers in 2022 will grow according to the program approved by the government. According to the latest news, the State Duma and the Ministry of Education have prepared a number of changes regarding payments to teachers working in educational institutions of Russia, funded from the federal budget. What changes await teachers, how much the salary will grow and how it will be charged - all this is about later.

Raising teacher salaries in 2022: what will change

The new procedure for calculating salaries, according to the latest news, will provide for a number of changes in the tariff scheme. In February 2021, an indexation was carried out, due to which the amount of the teacher's salary increased by 6.8%. How and when will teachers' salaries be increased - this issue was resolved in March 2021. During the meeting of the State Duma deputies and representatives of the Ministry of Education, it was proposed to radically change the salary system for all teachers involved in the budgetary sphere.

Now the level of payment will be different for representatives of each qualification category, and the salary will also be increased. The authorities proposed introducing a single rate for teachers throughout the country, but taking into account the level of qualifications, workload and other factors. The final amount will vary.

Additionally, local and regional government bodies were empowered to charge incentive surcharges for teachers. If, according to the new calculations, the employee's wage level is lower than the previously established one, then the amount of remuneration will be kept at the same level.

Andrei Milekhin, Head of the Department for Teacher Training and Professional Development, explained that these innovations will reduce the gap between teachers' salaries in different regions. And as a result, a fixed minimum wage will be established for all teaching staff of the Russian Federation.

Tatyana Kupriyanova, Deputy Chairperson of the All-Russian Trade Union of Educational Workers, told whether there will be an increase in teachers' salaries and how it will be done. According to the new calculation system, the salary is equal to 70% of earnings, which is 2 times higher than in previous years. This change will become the basis for future growth in wages, since only the rate (salary) is subject to annual indexation.

The State Duma approved a law on the introduction of a single tariff for young teachers under 35 years old. Such a step will attract more personnel to the education sector. According to the innovations, the salary of a young specialist will be equal to 1.5-2 minimum wages. Also, these changes should increase the prestige of the profession and make it more in demand, which is important in the face of a shortage of personnel.

How much do teachers get now

In 2021, after indexation, the salary of a teacher working was calculated, taking into account the region where the educational institution is located, as well as its type. Here are the average figures for the Russian Federation, relevant for 2021:

In municipal institutions, wages are lower than in regional ones. There is also a gap between the remuneration of personnel working in federal and municipal educational institutions of all types.

New payroll for teachers in 2022

In 2022, the teacher certification system will change, due to which the salaries of teachers will be calculated taking into account the ranking. According to the new order of accruals, the following changes will be introduced:

  • accrual and calculation of salaries will be carried out according to a single tariff scheme for all educational institutions in Russia;
  • a system of incentive and compensation payments will be in place;
  • the rate will be differentiated taking into account the complexity of the work, as well as the level of qualifications of professional personnel;
  • the payments will also include bonuses, co-payments for classroom management, for extracurricular activities.

In total, teachers' salaries in the 2021-2022 academic year will be calculated according to different rules. In 2021, the current rules are still in effect, but from January 1, accounting departments will switch to new calculation schemes. Additionally, indexation is expected in February.

Minimum salary for educators in 2022

According to the Government's plan, the increase in teachers' salaries, scheduled for implementation in 2022, will change the structure of payments. It is known that the amount of salary will depend on the minimum wage, which will reduce the huge gap between the amount of payments to teachers in different regions. Also, structural changes have led to the fact that the amount of salary will be at least 70% of the total monthly payment. The allowances for seniority, class management, qualification category will remain.

Program "Zemsky Teacher"

The Zemsky Teacher program has been operating since January 2020. Many have heard the news about the terms of the program, teachers' salaries and a lump sum. According to the rules of the program, young teachers can get a job in small settlements with a population of no more than 50,000 people. Additionally, the project "Zemsky Teacher" motivates graduates of pedagogical universities with material reward, which differs depending on the region:

  • young specialists in the Far East will receive 2,000,000 rubles each;
  • in all other regions - 1,000,000 rubles each.

It is not yet known whether the amount of payments under this program will be increased. According to the rules of the program, the payment of funds is carried out no later than December 1 of the year of employment. To take part in the "Zemsky Teacher" program, a teacher must conclude a tripartite agreement for a period of at least 5 years. Moreover, his work load will be at least 18 hours a week.

The program also provides other advantages: loyalty to the administration interested in personnel, small classrooms, modern classroom equipment. But it is important to know that in case of violation of the terms of the signed contract, the teacher is obliged to return the amount paid in full. If the employee refuses to return the funds provided to him within the framework of the Zemsky Teacher program, a scheme of enforced collection through the court is envisaged.

Raising teachers' salaries in 2022 will significantly change the income level of skilled workers in education. All changes adopted in the State Duma and the Ministry of Education will enter into force on January 1, 2022.
