Ahead is the new 2021-2022 academic year and we propose to talk about what will be the school vacation schedule for schoolchildren in Russia and why it turns out that some children are already enjoying the freedom from books and notebooks, while others are still sitting at their desks.
Important! Now in Russia there is no uniform schedule of school holidays. The educational institution independently sets the period of rest for students. Of course, this is done in accordance with the law.
Vacation rates
There are a number of regulations governing this point. But they are purely advisory in nature.
When planning school holidays in 2021, it is necessary to observe a number of parameters that are mandatory:
- any school holidays must start on Monday, and 2021-2022 will be no exception;
- the duration of the rest period cannot be less than 7 days (including weekends);
- all holidays of the school year (except summer) must provide students with at least 30 days of rest;
- in summer, schoolchildren must rest for at least 2 months (practices or exams may be scheduled in June);
- The postponement of dates is allowed for no more than 2 weeks (in either direction from the dates originally set in the school schedule) with mandatory notification of all participants in the educational process (teachers, children, parents).
However, there are separate restrictions for each region. For example, a “vitamin vacation” may be announced for children in the Far North. They occur during the winter months when the weather conditions are most severe. Also, schools often introduce additional "February" holidays for first graders.

Semester (quarter) system
The classical system of organizing the educational process, established for decades, in which the year is divided into 4 parts (quarters), which are combined in pairs into semesters.
The classical teaching method is the most familiar to the majority. She boasts undeniable advantages:
- The 2021 vacation schedule for a general school and a specialized school will turn out to be the same.
- Children will be able to forget about textbooks and not attend art circles and sports sections.
- In Russia, the majority of schools adhere to the fourth education system. There are significantly fewer educational institutions with alternative methods.
- Any quarter ends according to the standard scheme: the control is written - the grades are received - the long-awaited rest begins.

In many educational institutions of Russia, working on quarters, in 2021-2022 additional vacations will be announced for schoolchildren of grades 1-4, which will traditionally take place in mid-February from 02/07/22 to 02/13/22. The week of February rest divides the 3rd quarter into two blocks lasting 4 and 5 weeks, respectively.
The extra rest period will make it easier for babies to overcome the longest quarter.Moreover, an additional period of rest traditionally falls on the period of peak ARVI illness, which will save many babies in 2021-2022 from meeting viral infections.
Trimester (modular) system
German educational institutions were the pioneers in modular learning. They began using the trimester training system back in the 30s of the last century.
Among the indisputable advantages of such a system, it is worth noting:
- The educational process is divided into equal periods.
- Pupils have more free time. This helps them to fully rest and recuperate before the new semester.
- Schoolchildren do not write final tests based on the results of each academic period. This approach will avoid worrying about the missed material. After all, the child could miss lessons due to illness. Now he will be able to repair the knowledge gap without undue haste.
- Optimal alternation of the "study" - "rest" mode. This allows you to take care of the physical and mental state of the younger generation. Especially for kids, this is a good opportunity to get used to the new rhythm of life.

But, unfortunately, this system is not ideal either. Holidays 2021 for schoolchildren of the semester methodology have drawbacks:
- Learning by trimester makes it difficult to plan a child's leisure time. He will have to rest when his parents are working and friends from other schools are studying.
- Test work will begin as soon as the child goes to school. Therefore, how can you forget about notebooks and textbooks when reporting work is ahead.
- We'll have to repeat the material we have learned. And frequent breaks do not have the best effect on the quality of knowledge perception. The pupil simply does not have time to enter the usual rhythm.
- Vacation schedules in such a school and specialized institutions will not coincide. On free days, the guys will not be able to fully relax. They will have to attend art circles and sports sections.
