In the southern latitudes, the late varieties of Cascade and Cordoba have proven excellent. They have time to fully mature, because the summer in the south is hot and long enough, and are also intended for transportation and long-term winter storage. In the warm regions of the country, other varieties (early, mid-ripening) will also give birth well.
Sowing time
In mid-latitudes and northern regions, carrots are sown in spring, and in southern regions, planting is allowed in late autumn or early spring.
Autumn sowing
To get a harvest in 2024, carrot seeds can be sown at the end of autumn 2023, provided that in winter your region is not affected by severe frosts, and in the spring during the snowmelt period, the plot does not turn into a continuous puddle, and the soil with it is not washed away by streams of running water.
Important! It is impossible to plant a seed in a warm grant in autumn, as premature activation of growth will occur, sprouts will appear before the onset of winter frosts and the plant will die.

Gardener Tips
To make carrots look beautiful, even and tasty, you should take into account the following tips from experienced gardeners:

- watering should be moderate, if the bed is too wet, the roots will rot;
- deep the seeds optimally by 1.5 cm;
- you can't plant carrots for several years in the same place;
- you shouldn't plant a carrot bed where parsley or beans grew last season, as these plants have many common pathogens.
