The beginning of the school year is an important event for students, their parents and teachers. First-graders who go to school for the first time are especially worried. I would like this day to become a real holiday for children, and for this it is necessary to approach its preparation with all responsibility. In schools, ceremonial lines are held, concerts and other cultural events are held. In advance, you need to think about how the decoration of the class will take place by September 1.
Window decoration
By decorating the school windows, you will not only create a festive mood for students and teachers, but also for everyone passing by the school building that day. The first thing they pay attention to is the windows, so let them look festive.
You can decorate the windows of the audience with figures cut out of colored paper for September 1. It is desirable that these were some thematic images:
- Letters
- The numbers
- Rulers, compasses, pencils, pens
- Geometric figures
- Figurines of children
Paper applications in the form of children's palms will look very original. Color them in multi-colored paints or cut them straight out of colored paper. It is better to choose colors bright, positive, cheerful: pink, orange, blue, juicy green.
It is advisable not to use dark gloomy shades. Black, gray, dirty blue colors will certainly not create a festive atmosphere.
Place flower pots with flowers made from balloons on the windowsills. They can be ordered from specialized stores. If there are blinds on the windows, you can attach paper-cut autumn leaves to them.
School corridor decoration
Before the students enter the classroom, they have to go through long mazes of school corridors. First graders will be especially pleased if the corridors are festively decorated. It is one thing when, having entered the school building for the first time, a small student walks along ordinary dark corridors, and it is quite another thing when they greet children with bright balloons, garlands and posters.
If possible, you can make multi-colored arches from balloons. But these are quite expensive decorations, and in the absence of the necessary funds, you can use budget options for decorating school corridors. For example, a garland made of colored flags and suspended from the ceiling. However, making such a garland will take a lot of time.
On a note! Paper flags are short-lived, but if you make a garland of fabric flags, it will last for more than one year. Fabric flags can be washed, ironed and refurbished.
On the walls of the corridor, hang posters with drawings, photographs from the life of the school, congratulations and wishes to teachers, first-graders, and all students. Everyone will be interested in reading poems about school life, interesting stories, looking at photos from lessons, festive events, solemn lines. Such wall newspapers are invented by the whole class, gathering in advance, selecting photographs, information, drawings. This is a very exciting activity, and the result will be considered by all teachers and students of the school.
How to decorate the audience in an original way?
When decorating the class, it should be noted each student who comes to the classroom on September 1. Each child will be pleased to see festively decorated desks and chairs. Place a flower made from a balloon on each school desk, or tie a helium balloon to the desk. Vases made of colored pencils with fresh flowers inside will look very unusual in the form of decoration.
If you have funds, you can order volumetric figures from balls, for example, the name of the class, the figure of the student, a large school bag, etc.

Don't forget to design your chalkboard. First of all, it attracts the eyes, and you cannot leave the board without a festive decor. If there is a student in your class who has the ability to draw, you can instruct him to draw a thematic picture with colored crayons or beautifully write a congratulation on September 1 (verses for the day of knowledge). Let the drawings and inscriptions on the board be made with bright colors so that the overall picture looks positive and festive.
You can also use colored corrugated paper by cutting out letters and figures from it, which you can then attach to the board. Balloons and colorful garlands can also be hung on the board.
The most creative part of classroom decoration will be decorating the walls of the classroom by September 1st. Here you can fantasize as much as you like, the main thing is to make it bright and festive. The simplest, but rather time-consuming way of decoration is paper garlands. They can be very diverse, and it is better to choose positive and cheerful colors. You can insert links with the letters: "School, hello!", "From the first of September!" etc. Flowers made from balloons, posters, wall newspapers, a photo collage - there are really many options to decorate a classy audience.
How to decorate school with balloons?
Balloons are the most wonderful option for a festive decor. Firstly, schoolchildren are still children, and colorful balloons will delight them. And secondly, balloons are always associated with a holiday, and let the schoolchildren have September 1 not just the first day of school, but a really special date. So, how can you decorate the school premises with balloons?
- Helium balloon arc. Balls filled with helium are attached to the fishing line so that there is a distance between them. Such an arc can be hung at the entrance to the classroom, above the blackboard, above the desks, at the entrance to the corridor.
- Flowers from balls. 5 balls are connected to each other in the form of a flower, the ball in the middle must be chosen in a contrasting color with the rest of the "petals". Flowers are attached with double-sided tape to the board, desks, walls, windows. On September 1, the decoration of the class in the form of flowers will look very interesting.
- "Fountain" of helium balloons. It looks like this: a kind of stand made of balls, and on top there are balls on long ropes. If you make such a "fountain" in human height, you can put them at the entrance to the classroom. Place smaller compositions on both sides of the board.
- A bouquet of balloons. Several helium balloons of different colors are gathered together and attached to a small weight to keep them from flying away. Place a bouquet of balloons above the teacher's table or next to the blackboard.
- Individual balls. The number of helium balloons, equal to the number of students in the class, is tied to ribbons and distributed to children so that they all come out together and launch balloons into the sky. The spectacle will be very beautiful!
You should think in advance how and with what you will decorate the classroom. Especially try to create the most festive atmosphere for the first graders. Do not forget that they are still children, and various garlands, pictures and balloons will surely set them up for a positive. But even at an older age, students, of course, will be delighted with the festive decor of their audience.
