DIY rocket craft: a step-by-step master class, novelties and interesting ideas, photos of finished works, materials

Looking into the sky, observing the unhurried movement of clouds and the rapid flight of birds, people themselves dreamed of flying. Their dreams have come true: people travel between cities by helicopters, between continents by airplanes, and fly into space by rockets.

Children imitate adults and also dream of flying; they easily imagine themselves as pilots in the cockpit of an airliner or fighter, as astronauts in spacesuits at the control of a spacecraft.

Airplanes flying high in the sky performing aerobatics seem to be light, swift, graceful aircraft. On close acquaintance with the plane, when you can touch it with your fingers, it seems awkward, huge and so heavy that the thought always creeps in involuntarily: how does it fly? The impressive appearance of the aircraft makes an unforgettable impression on children.

Space rockets do not launch as often as planes, and most residents watch the takeoff on television. The start of a spaceship ascent is more impressive than an airplane take off.

After getting to know the "live" aircraft and watching the video, flights to distant countries come to children's dreams. Children want to grow up as soon as possible and take part in the events themselves. A children's craft rocket can bring their dreams closer to reality.

Materials for crafts

In children's fantasy, a rocket can have the most unusual outlines, and common materials and household items are used for its manufacture. There are a large number of models of children's crafts in the form of a rocket.

The variety of materials is striking:

  • Papers,
  • Wood,
  • Plastics,
  • Plasticine,
  • Aluminum
  • Foil,
  • Styrofoam,

Many models use different materials to make different parts.

Craft paper rocket can be a flat or three-dimensional figure. Paper is one of the most popular materials for children's crafts due to its properties: it is cheap, affordable, easy to process, lightweight, does not require the use of complex tools, with the help of paint it easily imitates other materials:

  • Bronze,
  • Aluminum,
  • Wood.

Features of the organization of work

The complexity of the craft is determined based on the child's age, level of development, and his interests. There is no point in forcing a child to make models of rockets out of paper if he is interested in something completely different. Bright photos of the rocket craft can attract his attention and interest.

In the youngest age group, children make flat models. At the initial stage, coloring is available for them: contour images on paper. The child learns to hold a colored pencil, accurately paints certain areas without going beyond their boundaries, monitors the uniformity of the paint application.

It is convenient to paint the rocket outline with a brush using watercolors, gouache paints. With any method of performing work, attention is paid to the sequence and accuracy of execution.

Unobtrusively, but steadily, by encouragement and attention, rather than criticism and indifference, the child is taught that his little work should look attractive, like other children and adults.

Perhaps the first craft will not work out as we would like. In this case, the kid should be offered to paint not one rocket, but several, a whole series.

Surely the second, third, subsequent work will be much better.It is at this moment that the support of adults is important in order to consolidate the situation of success, to develop a sense of confidence.

Children's attention and interests are unstable; toddlers can easily become interested in building a rocket and switch to something else even easier. To develop a more permanent passion, you should adhere to the principle of systematicity.

To do this, work on making a rocket for children is done every day at a certain time. Within a week, the child will look forward to the hour when it will be possible to do construction.

Volumetric craft rocket

There are many schemes and ways to make a rocket craft. When choosing an option, take into account the age and abilities of young inventors, the technique of execution.

For a simple three-dimensional model of a cylindrical rocket, you will need materials and tools:

  • Paper (white or colored) of any size and density,
  • Cardboard sheet or finished sleeve,
  • Scissors or a sharp knife (cutter),

Drawing accessories:

  • Compass,
  • Ruler,
  • Plain
  • Pencil,
  • Adhesive for paper.

Choose a ready-made craft scheme with a list of all the details and the specified dimensions; based on the sample, the scheme and dimensions can be changed at your discretion.

On blank sheets of paper, markings are applied, adhering to sizes and proportions. Step-by-step instructions for assembling crafts from cardboard rocket:

  • Looking at the diagram, they mark up the details of the future rocket on paper; use drawing tools; it is convenient to organize work in pairs or in a small group:
  • The instructor shows, explains, and the students repeat; it is useful to plan the production of not one craft, but a whole series, in which the dimensions of each next craft are slightly larger;
  • With scissors or a knife, cut out all the workpieces along the contour; start to glue with a cylindrical body; so that the edges of the workpiece do not diverge, they are fixed with paper clips, tied with thread;
  • On one side of the cylinder, a conical nose is attached, on the other, nozzles and first stage engines, stabilizers and rudders in the form of small wings;
  • After the glue dries, the finished craft is decorated: portholes, hatches, miniature photos, pictures, inscriptions are added;
  • In the process of work, children learn the meaning of new concepts: a window, a propulsion engine, a capsule, and rocket fuel.

Craft rocket - small copy

Crafting a copy of a rocket is very realistic and the most difficult to make. This is a job for older children who are fond of building models.

It requires perseverance, patience, accuracy and a certain level of skill.

  1. They begin work on the craft by searching and studying diagrams with the applied dimensions of the parts and assembly instructions.
  2. The diagrams can be found in magazines or on thematic sites.
  3. The next step is to search for and collect materials of the required size, the model of the rocket has a considerable length.
  4. In the process of making a copy, it is important to adhere to the dimensions and proportions indicated in the recommendations.

At this age, the young designer is already independent. Adults provide an environment for creativity, support and help in overcoming difficulties.
