Crafts from traffic jams (115 photos): a step-by-step master class, creative ideas for design and decor with your own hands

Crafts from corks with their own hands are gradually becoming more and more popular among hand-made lovers. Many now collect them in order to create an amazing composition later.

For wine corks, they often start a box and store them in it, but more and more often they are reused later.

What can be made from wine corks

Crafts made from plastic corks are now in many ways inferior to those made from wine corks. They are more appreciated because they are made from natural materials, look more beautiful and, moreover, can even be useful. A large number of traffic jams can be used on:

  • Hot stand or napkins, cup holder;
  • Mat;
  • Panel or picture on the wall;
  • Trinket;
  • A curtain or curtain on a window or in a doorway;
  • Candlestick;
  • Decorative serving tray;
  • Small pots for indoor plants;
  • Some even manage to make furniture out of them.

Homemade cork rug

Often a rug is chosen for making wine corks. It turns out not only beautiful, but also useful, providing a massage effect. Such a rug will be resistant to bacteria, germs, mold and will not cause allergies.

To create a rug you will need:

  • The base where the plugs will be glued;
  • Stoppers in the amount of 175 pieces;
  • Glue;
  • Knife or cutter.

Progress:

  1. Each cork must be cut in half. The photo of handicrafts made from traffic jams shows that this is a rather laborious and long work that will require not only accuracy, but also patience;
  2. Now each cork needs to be glued to the base. You can first cut out the required size according to the number of plugs, or you can first stick everything, and only then cut off the excess part of the base;
  3. The rug is finished. It can be operated quietly in the bathroom.

Hot stand made of corks

A craft made of bottle caps in the form of a stand will be not only a very functional thing, but also a stylish piece for the interior.

The following materials will be required:

  • Wine corks;
  • Glue;
  • Knife;
  • Sandpaper for sanding;
  • Optionally, tape no more than half the height of the cork to cover the edge.

Progress:

  1. Cut each cork in half so that the stand does not turn out so high;
  2. The edge of the cut must be sanded with sandpaper so that it is free of roughness and protruding pieces;
  3. Now you need to form the future stand from the finished material in such a way as it should look in finished form;
  4. Now you need to glue all the plugs together, starting from the center;
  5. On the side, you can glue the structure with adhesive tape.

Christmas wreath

What Christmas champagne cork craft comes to mind right away? A Christmas wreath, of course. It will require a lot of corks, a frame for pasting, glue and decor.

Progress:

  1. You need to start sticking the plugs on the frame in a chaotic manner;
  2. It is necessary to ensure that the thickness of the frame is glued evenly on all sides;
  3. You can decorate the finished wreath with decor: various ribbons, beads. Can be left the same, without decoration, in a minimalist style.

Cork backsplash

An unusual element of the interior in the form of a kitchen apron can be made from wine corks.

Of course, it will take more than 1000 plugs to completely assemble it at 2.4 meters in length by meter in height. But such an apron looks very impressive and rather unusual.

In order to lay the corks on the wall without a gap, initially it is covered with dark paint. Corks that are laid out in a checkerboard pattern look best. Yes, this is a more time consuming process, but worth it.

Coffee table top

Quite a simple idea that will look impressive. You can lay out wine corks not just in order, but make some interesting pattern out of them, for example, in the form of checkmarks.

After the tabletop is laid out, you need to close it with glass so that the corks are protected from various influences.

Garland or curtain of cork

According to the following scheme, two things are assembled at once: a garland or curtain in a door or window opening. This is a rather complicated and time-consuming process, but the result will be very interesting.

You will need:

  • A large number of wine corks;
  • Screws where there are eyelets;
  • Rings to connect elements together.

Progress:

  1. One element at a time must be screwed into each plug;
  2. After all the screws and all the plugs have been used, it remains only to connect all the elements together with the help of rings;
  3. The length is selected based on personal needs. You can also paint the resulting garland or curtain in any color.

Decorating the box

You can make not only interior items from corks, but also decorate existing ones with them, as it was, for example, with a table top.

You can give a second life to an old casket with the help of these same wine corks.

You will need:

  • Lots of traffic jams;
  • Cutting knife;
  • The box itself, which will need to be decorated;
  • Topcoat varnish.

Progress:

  1. The plugs must be cut in half lengthwise. You can cut a part in this way, and a part with others, dividing the plugs in half;
  2. Do not rush to throw out the leftovers, cork chips will also be needed;
  3. Now you can start gluing the box with corks. If voids remain, they will simply need to be filled with crumbs and residues from cutting;
  4. The interior of the box can also be changed by decorating it with fabric;
  5. Then you need to cover the outer layer so that the corks not only do not suffer from various influences, but also give them an additional bundle with each other;
  6. Outside, along the contour, you can decorate the product with twine.

Hanger

Another useful device in the interior is a wine cork hanger. It can be not only for clothes, but also for various little things.

You will need:

  • Wooden base-plank, where the corks will be attached;
  • Paint or varnish;
  • The plugs themselves;
  • Glue or self-tapping screws to secure the plugs.

Progress:

  1. On the board, you need to measure and mark the places where the plugs will be attached. You can line them up both in one line and along different trajectories, placing them in a checkerboard pattern - one below, the other above;
  2. Corks and planks can be painted in any color;
  3. It remains only to glue or screw them into place;
  4. The hanger is ready, all that remains is to attach it to the wall.
