Today sport takes a tangible place in the life of any person. Great attention is paid to various sporting events, the TRP standards are subject to delivery, starting from kindergarten age.
In addition, the coverage of various sports events can take place through a creative approach - you can invite children to create several children's crafts on the topic of sports with their own hands. This process will interest and capture the attention of children for a long time.
Swimming Crafts
Any crafts on the topic of sports can be done by children with pleasure. These crafts are not only interesting, but also very functional. After all, it will be possible to realize on paper the image of a real swim, and with this craft it will be possible to play with friends, and the game will definitely have its own winner.

To complete the craft you will need:
- Colored paper;
- Scissors;
- Rectangular piece of cardboard depicting a swimming pool;
- Colour pencils;
- Stationery glue;
Completing of the work:
- First, a sheet of colored paper is cut into uneven strips and glued onto cardboard - it will represent the waves in the pool. One side of each strip must be glued to the base, and the other must be left unsticked.
- Three round, three triangular and six rectangular strips should be cut from sheets of paper of other colors - they are glued in such a way as to represent swimmers. Each of the resulting swimmers should be glued to a strip of paper that will be longer than the pool.
- The white part of the cardboard, not occupied by the glued paths, will be the base where you can draw the fans. The spectators' faces are drawn with a plastic cap and then completed with colored pencils.
Further, strips with swimmers are inserted into the left pockets (the non-glued part of the strip), and the swim can begin. Players pull stripes with swimmers, and one of them does it faster than the others. So the winner is determined.
Skier from an ordinary tree branch and semolina
This craft will be on the topic of winter sports. To complete it, you will need:
- Colored cardboard sheet;
- A small amount of semolina;
- Popsicle sticks;
- A branch of any tree, preferably spruce;
- Threads in three colors;
- Stationery glue;
Completing of the work:
- A sheet of cardboard is spread with glue and sprinkled with semolina (you can use flour instead of semolina). The result is a snow cover.
- The thread of the same color is glued in such a way as to depict the head of the skier and his hands. The second strand of a different color is used to create the torso and legs of the athlete.
- Popsicle sticks are glued to represent the skis of an athlete. A third thread is glued between his hands and skis, representing ski poles.
- Elements of a taken spruce branch are glued on both sides of the skier - they will represent trees on the sides of the ski track.
The skier participating in the race is ready. You can draw a rifle behind him with a black pencil, and the skier will become a biathlete.
Walnut sports ants
For this craft you will definitely need:
- Walnuts (in shell);
- Pieces of soft wire;
- Liquid nails with a gun;
- Plasticine;
- Several beads, depending on the planned number of athletes.

Completing of the work:
- Fastened together by 3 nuts in a shell. Thus, the body of the ant is made. The beads will become his eyes, the mouth can be cut out of paper, and the lace elements will become his antennae.
- The same pieces of wire 3-4 cm are taken - these will be the upper and lower legs of the ant. They will be attached to the body with glue. The ends of the legs can be made from plasticine.
- By adding different elements to the resulting ants, they can turn into different athletes. Boxing gloves can be molded from pieces of plasticine. Using a piece of wire, thread, and a toothpick, you can turn one of the ants into an archer. In the presence of popsicle sticks, it may well turn out to be a skier. An important addition to the composition will be a regular shoebox depicting an entire sports arena. You can draw spectators on its walls from the inside.
Making a ball for the game
For crafts you will need:
- Balloon;
- White threads;
- Paints;
- Stationery glue or PVA glue;
Completing of the work:
- First, the balloon should be inflated.
- Then it is carefully wrapped with threads and coated with glue.
- After waiting for the glue to dry, the ball is pierced and deflated, and the thread frame retains its shape.
- The ball is carefully painted over with paints, depending on which of the sports the ball will belong to.
Initially, the ball is white because white threads were used. You can paint individual elements with black paint to create a soccer ball.
By painting it orange, children will make the ball look like a basketball, yellow-blue like a volleyball, etc. This proposal can hardly be addressed to children of the preschool group, it is more suitable for children of early school age.

Figure skating applique
For crafts you will need:
- A rectangular piece of white cardboard - it will represent an ice arena;
- Several figure skaters cut from old postcards and candy wrappers;
- Stationery glue;
- Colour pencils;
Completing of the work:
- White cardboard is painted with colored pencils for the ice rink. The child must independently decide which drawing to apply to the cardboard.
- Images of celebrities are taken and glued onto imaginary ice.
- The application can be a good advertisement for a planned event and become a craft on the topic of sports in kindergarten, with a mandatory prize for its creator.
In general, on the Internet, if you wish, you can find a lot of photos of crafts on the topic of sports, if you need examples for a child.
Regardless of the age of the child, do not forget that the execution of the craft is entrusted to him, and not to an adult, so the participation of an adult should be minimized.
DIY crafts on the topic of sports are a creative process, so you should not limit the child in the manifestation of imagination. You can show him several examples, and in the future he will independently generate his own ideas and will independently embody them. And only minor technical help is required from an adult.

It should also not be ruled out that all the materials used by children when creating their crafts must be strong, adhere well to each other, if the craft involves attaching one element to another.
