All kinds of spoon crafts can be not only decorative elements, but also carry a functional load. You can make bright decorations for the interior or toys from plastic spoons, and candlesticks, furniture handles and other functional elements from metal ones.
To make such crafts, you do not need special tools and materials.
Flowers from spoons
One of the simplest craft ideas for disposable spoons is making flowers. You can create roses, tulips, water lilies and other flowers with petals, the shape of which is visually similar to a spoon.
To make a rose from plastic spoons, you need the following materials and tools:
- 13 plastic spoons in the same color. Usually, white appliances are on sale, but they can be repainted in any other color.
- Fire source: lighter, candle, gas burner, etc.
- Scissors.
- Small pliers.
- Glue gun.
Instructions:
- Heat a spoon slightly over a fire to make the plastic deform.
- Bend the first spoon with pliers almost into a ball, it will act as the middle of the rose.
- Bend the rest of the products so that each subsequent spoon is wider than the previous one and has the shape of a petal.
- Cut off the handles of all blanks except the first.
- Glue the petals with hot melt glue, forming a bud.
- Paint the petals and trunk as desired. Better to use acrylic paint.
Candlesticks
The original version of the craft from metal spoons is wall candlesticks. It is necessary to use iron devices, since the fire can melt the plastic, which is fraught with fire. The candlestick is made as follows:
- Bend the product so that the scoop is perpendicular to the handle.
- Drill 1-2 holes in the handle for fastening.
- Fix the workpiece on the base. You can use a wooden board, a piece of plywood or chipboard. It is better to use screws for fastening.
- Set a low candle in the scoop. To keep it from dangling, you can drip a little melted paraffin into the spoon.
Likewise, candlesticks can be made from old ladles and even forks.
Pineapple lamp
Another idea for making plastic spoons is a pineapple-shaped lamp. To make it, you will need a lot of spoons, it is advisable to use small products.
It is also important to choose a quality glue that will not melt from the heat of the lamp.
Tools and materials:
- Compact oval lamp;
- About 100-150 plastic spoons (depending on the size of the lamp);
- Wide plastic bottle;
- Sharp knife, you can use a stationery for paper;
- Green cardboard paper;
- Acrylic paint.
Instructions on how to make a craft lamp from spoons:
- Cut off the base and neck of the bottle. You need to get an even cylinder.
- Paint the spoons yellow. You do not need to paint the pens, they are not required in this craft, but you should not rush to cut them off, it is more convenient to apply paint with them.
- Cut off the handles.
- In a circle from the bottom row, glue the spoons to the bottle with a glue gun. The spoons of each next row should slightly overlap the previous ones and be located between them.
- Cut out the shape of the sun from the green cardboard. The figure will imitate pineapple foliage.
- Glue the cardboard blank to the top of the bottle.
- Make long leaves out of cardboard and glue them so that they are pointing up and slightly curving to the outside.
- Put the resulting plafond onto a suitable sized lamp.

It is not necessary to imitate the appearance of a pineapple; you can also make a decorative ball out of multi-colored spoons.
Glowing water lily
An original idea for a garden craft made of spoons is a water lily with a built-in lamp. Due to the resistance of materials to moisture, such products can be used to decorate a garden or a nearby area. They can even be placed in a small garden pond.
Materials and fixtures:
- Disposable plastic spoons;
- Styrofoam, preferably dense enough;
- Hot melt glue;
- Waterproof paint, better acrylic;
- Stationery knife;
- Miniature solar lamp;
- Scissors.
Manufacturing procedure:
- Cut out a tapered foam shape with the top cut off (the top should be flat). For convenience, you can first make a cube, and then trim the ends.
- Cut off the spoon handles at an angle, leaving 2-3 cm. The cut at an angle will facilitate installation in the foam.
- Make a hole in the styrofoam and install a light in it. You can buy solar-powered waterproof flashlights at garden decor stores.
- Insert the spoons in a circle into the blank, forming a flower head from the petals. You need to make several rows of petals. A glue gun is used for fixing.
- Cover the foam with green acrylic paint.
Thanks to the lightness of the spoons and the porosity of the foam, the craft can be placed in a home pond, it will not sink.
It is not necessary to use a flashlight, but with it the flower will glow beautifully in the dark.
Watch decoration
Plastic spoons can be used to decorate a simple round clock. Such a decorative element will look great in the kitchen.
For manufacturing you will need:
- Relatively compact round-shaped watch without protrusions on the outer part of the case;
- A4 paper;
- Compass;
- Pencil;
- 30 plastic spoons;
- Hot melt glue;
- Pasta in the form of small circles;
- A can of paint in the desired color.
Clock decoration order:
- Cut a circle out of paper in the shape of a clock. To make the circle even, you need a compass. The blank is needed to protect the dial from paint.
- Glue plastic spoons around the entire perimeter of the case. The scoops should be directed outward, the handles should be glued.
- To decorate and separate the knobs from the dial, make an inner circle of pasta.
- Cover the clock with paper, and paint the pasta with spoons in the desired color.
You can use more than just spoons. To make them more attractive, they can be alternated with other cutlery such as forks and knives.
ladybugs
An original decoration for an interior or winter garden. Ladybugs from plastic spoons are made as follows:
- Paint 2 spoons red and 1 black. You can immediately apply black dots on red ones.
- Cut off the handles.
- Make 2 white dots on the black button. This will be the head of a ladybug.
- Glue the spoons in an A-shape: black - in the center (body), red - slightly turned to the sides (wings).
- Attach a button to the front.
- Make small tendrils out of threads.
Any handicrafts made from disposable and iron spoons are original decorations for your home and plot. They are made very simply, without the use of special tools.
