Do-it-yourself Elsa dress from "Frozen", master class

On the eve of the New Year, all parents are puzzled by one question. What outfit for your child to choose, where to buy or order, because there is not so much time for independent production. Dear Mom and Dad, don't worry. If your daughter dreams of Elsa's dress from the famous cartoon "Frozen", then sewing it yourself will not take you much time. And he will look like a real queen, which, no doubt, will greatly delight your child.

You will need:

  • Your daughter's white blouse with elbow-length sleeves or long sleeves.
  • The threads are white, blue.
  • Decorations.
  • Silver braid.
  • Sewing machine.
  • Blue organza with a snowflake ornament or any blue shiny fabric.
  • Sewing pins.

  • If you have little experience in cutting and sewing, we recommend making you a stencil of a bodice in the shape of a heart. Transfer it to the fabric and carefully cut it, attach it to the jacket and see if there are any flaws. If you think the fabric is too thin and not bright, try folding it in two layers. You can also make the backing with a more saturated blue fabric. Secure the bodice with pins on the sweater.

  • Using the sewing machine, sew the bodice to the jacket in zigzags, this is necessary in order to avoid loosening the fabric. Remember that this top is only sewn to the front side. Leave the back of the turtleneck untouched. If the fabric is thick enough, you can simply fold the required amount around the edge, turn the shirt inside out and sew with simple stitches. For more convenience, you can slightly loosen the T-shirt at the side seams, of course, only if you are sure that you can return everything to its original position.

  • Cut the skirt to the floor using the same fabric. Sew the fabric with a basting stitch where the belt will be. Be sure to create pleats as you shape the skirt. When you're done, just sew the side seam of the skirt.

  • Carefully connect the top and bottom of the suit, making sure to cut all the cuts.

  • In place of the belt, fasten the silver braid, it is better if it is not too thin.

Queen Elsa's costume is ready.

It remains only to sew a cloak, because this is the most important detail. We offer you two options for the cape:

  • Cut a piece of white tulle to the length and width of your intended raincoat. Be sure to process the edges. Sew the top with silver tape too. Decorate the cape with beaded snowflakes or rhinestones and attach to the back of the suit. This raincoat is suitable for younger children, as there will be no need to get tangled in strings.

  • For the second version of the raincoat, take a shiny blue organza and cut out the raincoat. Machine the edges. Take a wide tape and carefully sew it to the top of the raincoat, leaving the strings on the sides.
