Flowers from paper plates

These flowers are the perfect product to welcome the spring. They are simple enough for little craftsmen and at the same time are an interesting activity for craftsmen of any age.

To get started, you only need a few basic craft supplies, most of which may already be in your inventory. In this guide, you will learn how to make a paper flower craft out of the simplest material.

Required material:

  • Paper plates 5 pcs
  • Scissors
  • Metal clasps
  • Pencil
  • Marker or wooden spoon with round handle
  • Knife
  • Hot glue gun

Instructions

  1. Divide the plate with dotted lines into even four parts. Fold the paper plate along the dotted lines.
  2. On the formed triangle, a smooth rounding should be marked with a dotted line. This will be the edges of the petals. Cut the paper along the dotted line. One side will be cut deeper than the other. Once the plate is unwrapped, you will have a shamrock.
  3. Fold each curved edge around a large marker or wooden spoon handle.
  4. Lay the first plate with the curved edges DOWN.
  5. Fold and cut three more plates, each slightly smaller than the last. Cut the edges straight, not like the first plate. Save the cut edges! We'll use them later.
  6. Bend the petals inward with a pencil.
  7. Keep the remaining edges folded. Cut off the top and bottom edges.
  8. Still folded together, fringed at the edge. Repeat the same for the two remaining edges.
  9. Press the edge of ONE remaining edge against the wide marker.
  10. Press the edges of the TWO remaining edges against the pencil.
  11. Use a razor blade to cut holes in the center of each flower.
  12. Pass the paper fastener through all the layers.
  13. Cut a medium-sized piece from the fifth plate. Place a paper clasp between the back of the flower and the center of the plate. Stick it on.
  14. Start rolling up the curled fringe. Make sure the fringe is facing outward.
  15. Decide how to fold the petals. You can move the petals so that they look like a blossoming tea rose. Add a drop of glue between the layers of petals to keep the petals in place.
  16. Use a fan brush and watercolor to give it a beautiful hue.

Hyacinths

Create a simple DIY paper flower in just a few steps! This tutorial is one of the most popular colored paper craft projects.

All you need is heavy paper, scissors, and glue to make hyacinth flowers.

This craft is convenient because you only need three materials for the whole flower, and their assembly does not take much time!

Materials:

  • Template
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Work progress:

  1. Start by choosing the flowers you want and the shade of the stems. To create 3 flowers, we used a total of 4 sheets of thick paper.
  2. Then start picking the stems together. Cut strips of thick green paper 2 centimeters thick (long side).
  3. Roll each strip into a tube and glue. Set aside to dry. You may need to use clothespins to hold the tubes together until the glue dries.
  4. Now you can start creating flowers.
  5. Cut the sheets of paper into four strips (short side). Take each strip and fold it in half (long side).
  6. Cut into slices starting from the folded edge, leaving about a centimeter at the other end. The width of the slices may vary, make thinner slices for the top of the flower and gradually increase the thickness.
  7. Starting at the top of the stem, glue the end of the strip in place and continue rolling and gluing until you reach the end of the strip. Repeat the same with the next three stripes.

Voila, a bouquet of handmade hyacinths is ready!

Volumetric flowers

Do you want to create crafts of volumetric flowers from paper? This tutorial will show you how to make cardboard petal patterns and then use them to cut the flower shape out of craft paper or other heavyweight paper.

You can leave the flowers as they are, or spray paint the branches to create stems. This is a simple project that will leave a great impression.

How to do it:

  • Cut two petal-shaped pieces of cardboard. One large and one smaller. The bottom should be about 14 centimeters wide with a straight edge, and the edges can be roughly trimmed to any shape.
  • Apply the template to craft paper and cut out. (You will need 6 large petals and 3-4 small petals per flower - you can add more if you want to make it look more lush.)
  • Cut off a few extra centimeters for each petal from the center to the bottom of the petal.
  • Fold the sides over the line you just cut and glue in place.
  • Once this is done with all the petals, start glueing them staggered on top of each other. Large petals first, and then smaller ones.
  • Cut out one circle from colored cardboard and one slightly smaller circle from black cardboard.Cut the strips towards the center of the circle around the entire diameter. Place a small round object in the middle of the circle to fold the paper.
  • Apply glue to the center of the flower.
  • Find some pretty sticks or twigs and paint them green.
  • Once dry, use hot glue or tape to hold the flower on a stick.

Daffodils

Make your own crepe paper flowers with just a few basic craft supplies! This super easy daffodil craft is perfect for kids.

This clever folding and cutting technique makes it easy to create paper flowers. Once you get the hang of it, you'll want to put together a whole bunch of different shades and sizes!

Materials:

  • Corrugated paper (yellow, orange, white)
  • Ice cream sticks
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Tape

To create this craft, you need to follow a few steps:

  1. First fold the thick paper diagonally, aligning the edges to form a square, and cut off the excess strip. You should now have a large triangle.
  2. Fold the paper triangle in half, aligning the points to make another smaller triangle. Find the center again and fold the front side down to form a third triangle. Flip and repeat to form the fourth and final triangle, carefully lining up the edges. Don't worry, this sounds more complicated than it really is!
  3. Cut out the shape of a flower petal from the paper. Grasp the center and trim off the rounded top of the flower.
  4. Expand the paper flower, then cut out one petal so that you have 6 petals left for the daffodil.
  5. To make your daffodil three-dimensional, glue two petals with an open space between them, folding one on top of the other and aligning the edges. Let dry.
  6. Press the center of the flower against a hard surface so that the center has a flat back.
  7. Cut a small triangle out of the paint cup, overlap it, and glue the open ends together on the outside of the cup to create a three-dimensional center. Glue a cup of paint to the center of the flower.
  8. Glue the flower to the stem and let it dry.

This is a great option for making paper flowers for kids. We are sure you will be satisfied with the result, and your children will get a lot of emotions!
