Craft Christmas tree: 120 photos of ideas, a master class for making a Christmas tree for the New Year (instructions, diagrams, templates + examples of work)

Using the tree as a home decoration came to us from pagan rituals, when the tree symbolized the power of life and served as a talisman. The official tradition of using a Christmas tree to decorate premises came to Russia in 1700.

Tsar Peter the First issued a decree: "… in front of the gate to make some decorations from trees and branches of pine and juniper …". The custom of decorating a Christmas tree came to us from Germany and dates back to 1605.

In tsarist Russia, the festive tree was prepared in secret from children, decorated with gilded nuts, sweets and candies, apples, rowan bunches and candles, and was a real miracle.

Magic tree or art object

Today, when the shape of decorating the Christmas tree has become a stylistic decision, and the number of styles and directions is measured by the number of infinity, the choice has become a problem, and more and more people are inclined to think that the best way out is to be the designer himself.

Considering the ecological aspect of the topic: there is no cutting down of living trees, the world Christmas design industry has developed so widely that it is easier to return to candies and nuts than to decide in what style to decorate the Christmas tree.

And the latest trend - to make the tree so that it itself looks like a decoration, has deprived the last taboos of craftsmen.

One-stop solution - everything can be used

We use everything that surrounds us to make a Christmas tree with our own hands.

Let's start with the simplest ideas

The idea of how you can make a paper Christmas tree craft for kindergarten with your child.

We make a cone out of cardboard. We glue it with PVA glue or hot silicone. The size is at the discretion of the designer. Fill the cone with cotton wool or crumpled paper to maintain its shape.

We cut out, from the same cardboard, a circle that will serve as the bottom. It can be the same size as the base of the tree, maybe a little larger, in which case you can put “gif.webpts” under the tree.

And now the fun part: design development!

  1. Paint the Christmas tree craft with acrylic paint and hot silicone, glue balls, beads, bows, golden rain, etc., etc.
  2. We take the same cone as the base. Corrugated green paper (this part of the work can be entrusted to a young assistant) is torn into pieces, and these pieces are crumpled or rolled into balls. The resulting balls, using a brush and PVA glue, are glued to the cone. When the tree is dry, a bead is glued to each paper ball with hot silicone.
  3. Complicating the process. In this case, to make a Christmas tree, use plasticine or polymer clay, from which, using a silicone mold, mold leaves, twigs or any other shape that matches your idea of the tree.
  4. Glue the finished workpieces onto the cone. Consider the specifics of the material used when choosing an adhesive. A cone with attached leaf branches, paint in the color you like: green, gold, silver, white. We attach a few small decorations in a contrasting color and the Christmas tree is ready.
  5. We make a cone out of cardboard. We use Christmas trees for this craft: cones, balls or small Christmas tree decorations, from any material you like, it is important that the parts are of the same size.

Cut the bottom for the cone slightly larger than the diameter of the base of the cone.

Cones, previously, can be painted with gold or silver paint from a spray can. Or leave it in a natural color and sprinkle with snow.

To do this, after the tree is ready, the edges of the cones are greased with glue and sprinkled with crushed foam. You can mix foam with glitter.

We spread the cones (balls), gluing, starting from the bottom, layer by layer, fixing between themselves and the cone. It is important to respect the shape of the cone.

If you made the tree one color, you can decorate it with tinsel or a few small decorations. If you used cones (balls) of different colors, then there is no need to decorate, a wonderful multi-colored Christmas tree decoration will look great.

  • Woolen tree. Take the same cone. We wrap it in several layers with woolen green thread for knitting. The shagier the thread, the better it will turn out. We attach a gold braid that imitates garlands in a spiral or vertical direction.
  • Christmas tree made of mesh. This Christmas tree craft is a little more complicated, but it looks very impressive.

We use a fine metal mesh. We turn a cone out of it. This can be a big craft as the materials are resilient. We fasten it with a thin wire. Don't make the bottom.

The resulting cone:

  1. We wrap with burlap. We fix it with hot silicone. In a spiral, we wrap it with a transparent, gold, silver, wide ribbon. Several bows from the same ribbon will complete the picture.
  2. We use organza. Without pulling, we fasten the fabric with folds, waves. Several large bows can be attached. This craft looks very aesthetically pleasing.
  3. We paint the metal mesh with gold or silver paint (aerosol).

We wrap the cone with a jute rope or any braid, but not forming a solid surface, but only schematically denoting it. A few Christmas tree decorations and you're done.

Most importantly: In a cone (in all cases), a garland is fixed. Your tree will glow from the inside!

Christmas tree of the new millennium

Do-it-yourself ecological option for making a Christmas tree.

  1. A large number of dry twigs and twigs are used.
  2. They are preliminarily sanded and covered with transparent varnish.
  3. For the base, you can use a cardboard circle. The tree can be lined up with branches installed like a hut, observing the conical shape of the structure.
  4. Or laid horizontally on the floor, one on top of the other.
  5. In this case, the branches must be cut to create a tapered structure. (Use wood glue, wire) Several LED strings to complete.
  6. One of their original ideas for making a Christmas tree is a tree-wall panel.
  7. A triangular piece of plastic or string mesh is used, which is fixed to the wall. And this triangle is decorated with balls, garlands, bows and everything that symbolizes the holiday.

Take photos of the handmade Christmas tree, print it and use it as a postcard for a Happy New Year!
