Creation of bouquets from izolon

This master class describes an isolone bouquet that will decorate any vase.

We need:

  • Isolon (red, yellow or black for the middle, and green);
  • The wire;
  • Tape;
  • Hot glue;
  • Scissors;
  • Knitting needles;
  • Iron.

Progress:

  1. First, we need to make patterns out of paper, and then use a needle or a toothpick to transfer them to a red or other isolon for the petals.
  2. We need five parts for one flower. Two parts are lower petals, one with five petals and two with four petals. In the center we make holes with a knitting needle. We will need them to put the parts on the wire-rod.
  3. Now we take this part and with scissors begin to cut the center, not reaching the hole in the center.
  4. We need to heat the iron and attach every detail of our flower to it. When heated, the parts will take the desired shape. Additionally, we form petals with our fingers. The petals need to be slightly wrapped inward so that the attachment point is closed as tightly as possible. This is the center of the flower.
  5. Then you need to wrap the wire with green tape and make a loop on top to hold the flower. We put on the rod the smallest part of the middle, cut from an isolone of a contrasting color. Then we cover this part with hot glue from below and apply the second part with our teeth.
  6. Then again glue the bottom of the already prepared part with glue and apply the petals themselves, because the middle is ready. First we put on the five-petal piece, and then the other two large four-petal pieces. Do not forget to coat the already used part with glue.
  7. We make the edges of the leaves very uneven, carved. We also warm them up a little with an iron and draw streaks with a knitting needle. You can use a ready-made texture such as a plaster cast. Then heat the leaves and press them firmly against the texture. Glue the leaves to the stems.

Christmas decorations and carnival masks

Izolon is one of the most grateful materials from which you can quickly make New Year's decorations or costume details for a children's holiday. This material easily takes the required shape and is embroidered with beads and rhinestones.

It is easy to sew braid and lace to the isolon, connect two layers, thereby giving the required volume. A rigid backing or an insert between the layers will give the necessary shape, make the mask or cap of the Red Riding Hood shape-stable.

Isolon flowers of appropriate thickness can be attached to the hoop.

By the way, excellent appliques are obtained from isolon that can transform a banal sweater or jacket and make them colorful and bright.

DIY izolona lampshade

Non-flammability and non-toxicity when heated makes Isolon a suitable material for retrofitting old luminaires.

Necessary materials:

  • Old lamp with a frame;
  • Izolon;
  • Hot glue gun;
  • Decorative upholstery tapes: thin and fringed;
  • Scissors;
  • Glue spray or glue gun.

Progress:

  1. We start by carefully removing the old lampshade, leaving a solid frame.
  2. Typically, its metal elements attached to the upper and lower periphery are glued and stitched together, so that the lamp eventually forms a truncated cone.
  3. The selected isolon is cut exactly to the size of the frame.
  4. To do this, it will not be superfluous to make a cloth pattern from an old sheet, on which one and check the correctness of the marking.
  5. Then we cut out the isolon according to the template and glue the fabric with a universal spray glue. It's easier to start with the top rim.
  6. It is good to use glue that also holds up at low temperatures. After the glue has dried and the isolon is securely fixed on the frame
  7. Now you just need to install the lampshade on the lamp base and voila!

If there is a desire and the necessary skills, you can cut petals in the shape of a flower of magnolia, rose, hydrangea from isolon, give the desired shape with a hot iron and stick them on the frame. Beads and rhinestones hidden between the sheets will give a special chic.

If you are interested in making a lamp from izolon in a futuristic style, then you can roll the petals in the shape of a bag. If you want, you can play with a gradient, a combination of a variety of colors.

In addition to lampshades, izolon is used to create candle decor, flowers from it are woven into a wreath, and a thick candle is inserted inside.
