Everyone, adults and children, is alike looking forward to the New Year's holidays and trying to prepare for them in advance. Of course, I would like to meet my beloved and long-awaited holidays definitely “excellent”, so that they will be remembered for a long time, and then there was something to remember and tell all relatives and friends.
One of the options for a "decent" and, which is important, budget meeting of the New Year and rest is attending a ball in the Mir Castle. As a rule, from the month of December, an advertising pre-holiday campaign begins in the press, where you can fully and completely learn everything about such planned New Year's events.
The colorful Mir castle of the famous Radziwills, for those who do not yet know, is located in the village of Mir, which is an hour's drive from Minsk. Firstly, indeed, surprisingly, inexpensive for such an original pastime - only 400,000 Belarusian rubles (about $ 21.7). Secondly, the program of balls is never repeated, is designed for four hours and takes place in one of the halls of the castle in stunningly luxurious interiors.
Usually balls are held here for two days in a row immediately after January 1 and differ from each other in theme. In 2016, for example, on the first day there was a classic ball in the style of the 19th century, and on the second day - the Retro Salon. Quite curious, you must agree.
One of the main and obligatory conditions for all participants of any ball is the appropriate dress code. For a classic ball, for example, these are beautiful New Year's ballroom dresses for women and tuxedos or tailcoats for men. For the Retro Salon, these are outfits in the style of the 70-80s. Masquerade costumes are always in trend, perfect and will be appropriate in any occasion.
You can, of course, buy ready-made outfits in popular stores, or you can rent them. As a last resort, you can find just a beautiful evening dress or an elegant suit and add accessories corresponding to the theme of the ball - also quite an acceptable option.
And one more important point. Any ball usually starts in the evening and ends quite late, and if you live far away and do not intend to return home on the same day, then you need to find a place to spend the night in advance. There are several options.
- The first is a hotel in the castle itself. Luxurious, expensive, comfortable and you need to book in advance, since there are not many rooms there and usually everyone is busy for the holidays.
- The second option is to stay at one of the nearby agro-estates. In this case, it will be somewhat cheaper and even somehow completely at home. But you will also have to book places in the agriturismo long before the event. And after the ball, you will need to get to it yourself, if you do not agree with the owners of the estate to meet you.
Basically, both options are good. The hotel on the territory of the castle is wonderful, and the Belarusian agro-estates are also very good. In addition, in the farmsteads themselves, as a rule, various services and entertainment are provided - it will not be boring there either. If you wish, you can even stay and relax a little more after the holiday in nature.
We can say that it is an ideal budget option for rest and spending the New Year holidays. Therefore, if you are interested in the era of gangsters and stunningly fashionable ladies, as well as the splendor of the casino and, of course, incendiary jazz, be sure to go to such a ball if it takes place in the Mir Castle. If not, choose another ball for yourself (for example, in the Russian Castle), be sure to visit it!
