New Year's menu of countries: Top-10 New Year's dishes 2022

Many start preparing the New Year's table two or three weeks before the holiday begins. To avoid the rush and hustle and bustle in stores, some buy shelf-stable food and alcoholic beverages in mid-December. A day before the New Year, experienced housewives boil vegetables and make a list of dishes.

During the year we conducted a survey, and, as a result, we compiled a rating of traditional festive dishes of the countries and made a New Year's menu.

1. Olivier salad

For decades, this salad has not lost its leading position. People have even formed an association: if Olivier is on the table, it means now New Year. How many recipes this salad does not exist, and in every family it is delicious and unique. The central place is assigned to the Olivier table.

2. Red caviar

It is difficult to imagine the countries celebrating the New Year without sandwiches with red caviar. In addition, the popular choice is the alternation of sandwiches with caviar and sliced red fish. And those who do not want to bother with spreading sandwiches made their work easier with the help of their favorite rolls with red caviar.

3. Herring under a fur coat

The third place can be safely assigned to this noble dish in the New Year's menu of the country. Putting simply herring sprinkled with green onions on the table is a good snack option. But, herring under a fur coat is two in one: an appetizer and a salad.

4. Mandarins

Everyone loves these citrus fruits: both children and adults. The intense scent of tangerine is always associated with the herringbone and the New Year. A vase of tangerines is certainly placed on the table. And so that the tree smells of your favorite fruit for a longer time, excellent crafts are created from the tangerine peel, which are placed under the tree or hung on branches.

5. Champagne

New Year is impossible without the clinking of glasses with a fizzy drink to the chimes. Men who consume exclusively cognac, whiskey or vodka on holidays will still raise a glass of sparkling wine in honor of the New Year 2022.

6. Salad with crab meat or chopsticks

The fifth place is confidently taken by a salad of crab sticks. This dish has become a festive one relatively recently, but has already become firmly established in the New Year's menu. Fast and satisfying, this salad appears every year at a festive feast.

7. Stuffed eggs

New Year's table is not only about salads and alcoholic drinks. Snacks are sometimes the highlight of any table, especially New Year's. So, stuffed eggs are considered a must-have snack on the New Year's table. Each family has its own filling: some mix the crushed yolk with pate, others with finely chopped herring, others with mayonnaise, and cover the top with red caviar.

8. Aspic

This dish is gradually leaving the rating due to the appearance of European and Asian dishes in our menu. But many people cook jellied meat according to their grandmother's recipe for every holiday, especially the New Year.

9. Mushroom snacks

Russians, more than anyone else, love to pick mushrooms in autumn, the harvest of which is salted, pickled and dried. On the New Year's table, many snacks are prepared from mushrooms picked with their own hands. The most popular snacks are pickled mushrooms and mushrooms fried with onions, as well as mushroom salads.

10. Hot dishes from meat or poultry

No celebration is complete without a "hot" one. The most common hot dishes and snacks on the New Year's table are pork or chicken chops, oven-baked duck or chicken, and baked potatoes with meat, mushrooms and spices.

Dishes that were not included in the top ten were presented: cheese, sausage and meat snacks, other salads, olives, mashed potatoes, compote (from blanks), and a variety of alcoholic beverages.

Of course, in every family, the rating of dishes is presented in its own way, but almost all of the listed dishes are certainly present in the New Year's menu of the countries. What do you cook for the New Year holidays?
