Moscow metro map in 2022: new stations, scheme, expansion

A perspective map of the Moscow Metro of 2022 has appeared on the portal of the Moscow Stroycomplex. It allows you to get an idea of the upcoming volumes of underground construction and the technologies used, as well as learn more about each individual station.

By 2022, the length of the metro should exceed 450 km. About 90% of Muscovites will receive stations within walking distance from their homes, the website says. The special project informs about the details of the construction of the Bolshaya Koltsevskaya, Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya, Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya, Kozhukhovskaya, Zamoskvoretskaya and Sokolnicheskaya metro lines.

In total, in ten years, the Moscow construction complex is to build 220 km of lines and open 131 metro stations.

The Moscow building complex presented a perspective map of the Moscow metro, consisting of 56 platforms. The stations were put into operation in 2011. Thanks to the interactive format, each user can see both photos of finished stations, as well as photo and video filming of construction work. Also freely available on the site is information about the location, design, depth and number of lobbies, entrances and exits of each platform.

By 2023, the Moscow leadership announced the construction of 58 new stations and an increase in the length of the Moscow metro by 135 km - twice as long as it is now. This will allow 90% of Muscovites to have a metro within walking distance from their homes. At the same time, 21 stations will be located outside the Moscow Ring Road. The launch of the Big Circle Line is also planned for 2023.

BCL "Sokolniki"

In 2022, it is planned to build the Sokolniki station of the Big Circle Metro Line in the capital, according to the Moscow news agency.

“The largest metro construction project in the world does not slow down. In 2022, seven new stations will be presented to passengers of the Moscow Metro's Big Circle Line: Tekstilshchiki, Pechatniki, Nagatinsky Zaton, Klenovy Boulevard, Sokolniki, Rizhskaya and Maryina Roshcha. Their commissioning will allow to close the Big Ring, and according to the calculations of the builders, this should happen by the end of 2022, ”the message says.

The BCL will house 31 stations, many of which will become interchanges to the metro, other metro lines and the Moscow Central Circle. The total length of the Big Circle Line will be 70 km.

Let us remind you that Moscow is becoming a leader in the world metro construction. Since 2011, 56 metro stations have been opened in the Russian capital. By the end of 2022, another 67 stations will be launched.
