Find out how we are resting on New Year's holidays in 2022, whether there will be a traditional "long weekend" and when the Russians will have to go to work.
The tradition of the New Year holidays
Everyone knows about January - a "short month", about half of which we celebrate the coming New Year, and on the remaining days we get involved in work. And after all, almost no one remembers that the tradition of long New Year holidays in our country is only 15 years old.
Until 2005, the country rested for only three days, 1, 2 and then another 7 January. Proposals to again reduce the number of weekends and holidays are heard every year, but so far these initiatives have not found support either in the government or among ordinary citizens.
Important! In 2022, we will again have a "long vacation" from January 1 to 9! The first working day of 2022 will be Monday, January 10th.
Although there have already been calls to reduce the New Year holidays for all regions of Russia to 3 days (from 1 to 3 inclusive), in 2022 the period of the New Year holidays will become one of the longest in recent years.
Let's figure out how we will rest this time, and why there will be more days off than usual.
January production calendar for five days
As for the weekend, January 2022 did not offend us. In total, there are 15 of them:
- nine off New Year's holidays;
- Saturdays with Sundays in the second half of the month.
Thus, we will rest in the first month of the new year first from Saturday to Sunday (from January 1 to January 9), and then we will have 3 more weekends (15-16, 22-23 and 29-30). And only 16 days in January 2022 will be working.
For more information about the work schedule of Russians in a classic 5-day work week, see the calendar of the 1st month of 2022.
Working hours will be as follows:
- 40-hour week - 128 hours;
- 36-hour week - 115.2 hours;
- 24-hour week - 76.8 hours.
ATTENTION! This version of the production calendar for 2022 is preliminary. The working version of the production calendar for 2022 will be known only in the fall, because it is then that the government of the Russian Federation will adopt an order to postpone weekends falling on official holidays.
January production calendar for six days
Russians who work on a 6-day schedule will have a little less rest than those who work on a classic 5-day schedule. For them, out of January 31, 2022, there will be 19 working days, and only 12 days off - 9-day “New Year's holidays” (from January 1 to January 9), as well as three Sundays (16, 23 and 30).
Working hours in January for a 6-day schedule will be the same as for a 5-day schedule:
- 40-hour week - 128 hours;
- 36-hour week - 115.2 hours;
- 24-hour week - 76.8 hours.
