Expansion of Moscow: New Borders and a Map for 2022 - schema

The expansion of Moscow is the most glorious project in the history of Russia's main metropolis. Once implemented, the new city boundaries will take up twice as much space as before. In 2005, the Moscow government approved a master plan to expand the borders - for 20 years. According to this document, in 2020-2022, it will actively develop in the southwestern part of the Moscow region until it reaches the border with the Russian capital, Kaluga region.

Important nuances

Territorial development and construction of residential complexes require state and municipal authorities to comply with social guarantees and the availability of transport infrastructure. Therefore, in addition to land development and the construction of new neighborhoods, it is also planned to develop public transport in the city, in particular:

  • Formation of transfer points on existing metro lines.
  • Construction of additional routes and the organization of passenger traffic along them.
  • Construction of new ring roads and their inclusion in the structure of urban roads.

The second mandatory point that you should pay special attention to:

  • Preservation of recreation areas, parks, squares and forests.
  • Preschool, school, hospital availability.
  • Improvement of streets and organization of public places.

Concentration Zones

Many of the activities planned in the General Plan of Moscow for 2022-2025 are concentrated in the middle. It is planned to create large administrative and industrial centers in these areas. The developers of the master plan assumed that the middle part had good transport links with the center of the metropolis and its edges, respectively.

It is here that most of the industrial zones are concentrated. Over the next two years, the developers plan to reduce their area from 20,000 to 15,000 hectares by increasing the building density, building new business centers and, accordingly, creating new jobs.

Industry will not be removed from its former places - first of all, the replacement of spiritually and physically obsolete technologies with new and modern technologies.

Seven new guides

In 2022, it is planned to commission seven new overpasses in the capital. Their construction will connect the districts with a single transport network. In 2022, a total of 320 km of roads will be built and reconstructed. One third of this volume is already up and running. The construction and commissioning of the overcrowded Moscow Ring Road will allow residents of New Moscow (Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative districts) to get to work and home faster. Traffic users will be able to more easily move between regions, which eliminates the need to travel along the Moscow Ring Road. The road network provides for the construction of overpasses, multi-level overpasses and overpasses. More than 200 billion rubles are planned to be spent on this work.

Metro

The development of the Moscow metro network is one of the priorities. At the end of 2020, it is planned to put into operation the Kommunarovsk branch, starting from Novatorov Street and passing through the stations Slavyansky Mir, Mamyri, Letovo, Sosenki.

In 2022, the Kommunarovskaya line can be expanded to Krasnaya Pakhra and will pass through Troitsk. It is also planned to extend the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya line to Vnukovo airport. And in the northern part of the Moscow region, the orange line from Medvedkovo S.M. extends to Mytishchi.

The plans include the construction of a new branch in Rublevo-Arkhangelsk and a metro line to the International Financial Center near Krasnogorsk. According to preliminary data, this route passes through the stations:

  • "People's Militia";
  • "Manzaralı";
  • Strogino;
  • Troitse-Lykovo;
  • Rublevo-Arkhangelsk;
  • Ilyinskaya;
  • Shelepikha.

In 2022, Moscow officials intend to fully launch the southern part of the Third Crossing. This includes Vorontsovskaya, Zyuzino, Prospekt Vernadsky and all Kakhovskie stations.

Houses and neighborhoods

Changes are also planned in the field of housing construction. In the new districts of the capital, the construction of commercial housing will be reduced - its concentration will be 200 luxury apartments. On the contrary, the construction of social housing will increase.

In 2020-25, its size will be 47 million square meters - almost double the current figure. As for the infrastructure, two new parks will appear in New Moscow: Gloria Park near Kievskoye Highway and Garden of Heroes near Kaluzhskoye Highway.

Improvement of public places covers an area of 100 hectares. Most of the forests and green spaces in New Moscow will be preserved - they will be landscaped, recreation areas, convenient entrances and parking lots, comfortable conditions for children and adults.
