Solar and lunar eclipses played a special role in the life of our ancestors, and today, in 2022, astrologers consider these periods to be special, crucial and fateful. Since ancient times, the Moon and the Sun have played the role of a large heavenly clock. Years are counted according to the Sun, and months and weeks are counted according to the Moon.
Lunar cycle
The first ancient lunar calendars were based on observations of the movement of the border between the shadow and light parts on the surface of the Moon, called the terminator. At the same time, four clearly visible states were distinguished, called the phases of the moon:
- new moon - the moon is almost not illuminated by the sun;
- I quarter - the border between light and shadow divides the visible circle of the Moon in half (visible part on the right);
- full moon - the moon is fully illuminated by the sun;
- III quarter the border between light and shadow again divides the visible circle of the Moon (visible part on the left).
Interesting! The moon passes from one of these phases to the next, on average in a little over seven days, that's why there are exactly seven days in a week - this is the legacy of the first lunar calendars!
Solar cycle
Solar cyclicality - periodic changes in solar activity. The best known and best studied is the solar cycle with a duration of about 11 years (the "Schwabe cycle"). Space weather experts from NASA and the US Meteorological Agency NOAA have announced the start of a new 11-year solar cycle, the 25th since 1749.
Interesting! If the orbit of the Moon lay in the plane of the ecliptic, every month (strictly speaking - every 29.5 days) on Earth there would be one lunar (full moon) and one solar (new moon) eclipse.
But the inclination of the lunar orbit is about 5 degrees, therefore, for an eclipse, it is necessary that the moon during a new moon or full moon passes near one of the nodes of the orbit (that is, near the point of intersection of the orbit and the ecliptic). Such coincidences occur infrequently, although regularly, which is the reason for the comparative rarity of eclipses. Long-term observations and recording of eclipses have shown that lunar and solar eclipses occur with a cycle that is 6585.3 days long, or 18 years, 11 days and slightly less than 8 hours. This period is called saros. In one Saros, 28-29 lunar and 41-43 solar eclipses occur. Contrary to widespread misconception, in general, lunar eclipses occur less often than solar ones.
Lunar eclipses
A lunar eclipse occurs during a full moon when the Earth is between the Sun and the Moon and the Earth casts a shadow on the Moon.
- 04/30/2022 - partial lunar eclipse at 23:42:36 MSK;
- 05/16/2022 - total lunar eclipse at 07:11:29 MSK;
- 10/25/2022 - partial lunar eclipse at 14:01:20 MSK;
- 11/08/2022 - total lunar eclipse at 11:02:17 MSK.
In Russia, it will be possible to observe only a lunar eclipse, which will occur on November 8, 2022. The picture of the overlap of the luminary a little over 80% will be available to observers in the Urals, in Western Siberia. The maximum phase of 82% will be seen by residents of Surgut, Nadym, Nizhnevartovsk.
Solar eclipses
A solar eclipse is an astronomical phenomenon, which consists in the fact that the Moon obscures (eclipses) the Sun in whole or in part from an observer on Earth. A solar eclipse is possible only on a new moon, when the side of the Moon facing the Earth is not illuminated, and the Moon itself is not visible.
Total solar eclipse
Appears when the Moon is in a straight line between the Earth and the Sun, completely blocking light
Partial solar eclipse
When the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun but does not block all light, it causes a partial solar eclipse. The sun looks like a crescent disc.
Annular eclipse
Also appears when in a straight line between the Earth and the Sun, but does not block all light.
Hybrid eclipse
This eclipse is the rarest.It appears when the Moon is not close enough to Earth during the beginning and end of an eclipse.
Interesting! In the period from 2001 to 2100, there will be 224 solar eclipses, of which 77 will be partial, 72 annular, 68 total and 7 hybrid.
The following solar eclipses are expected in 2022:
- 04/30/22 - private;
- 10/25/22 - private.
On the territory of Russia in 2022 it will be possible to observe only the October eclipse. It will begin in Iceland and end in the Arabian Sea region. The largest phase of a private eclipse will be recorded in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug Yugra, the nearest large city to the observation site is Nizhnevartovsk. A partial eclipse will be visible in 89 countries and dependent territories
Influence of eclipses
Solar eclipses have a greater effect on physical health, lunar ones - on emotions and mental state. People who are sensitive, emotionally unstable, as well as those who have cardiovascular diseases, are advised to reduce business activity and rest more on days near eclipses.
Important! Eclipses more affect those people in whose horoscopes important points are affected by the eclipse.
First of all, it is important to understand that both eclipses have a so-called eclipse corridor. It usually starts 7 days before the eclipse and continues for the same amount after the eclipse! Naturally, during this period of time, the energy of the eclipse affects the events in our life. Moreover, the period before and after the eclipse also have different energy characteristics.
- Before the eclipse.The period is characterized by the fact that it tends to disrupt our plans and planned actions. Situations are increasingly out of control and the events occurring seem to be accelerating. In other words, everything happens at cosmic speed. First of all, it is important to observe restraint and calmness, take the position of an observer.
- During an eclipse.Important to remember! All events that take place on the day of the eclipse are of a karmic nature. That is, they are fateful for us and are not subject to our control! Which, however, is not surprising. Because, on the day of the eclipse, Qi is not stable!
- After the eclipse.This is a time of reflection, a period for analyzing and comprehending the events taking place earlier. First of all, it's time to make plans and outline ways for further development and advancement. Of course, it is better to start implementing plans after the closure of the eclipse corridor! Naturally, taking into account the technique of choosing dates!
Events during eclipses can turn life upside down and turn everything upside down. That is, in fact, radically change life. As a result of this upheaval, life can change both for the worse and for the better! So, for example, you may well begin a new, successful period in your life! It is important to understand that a lot in life will depend on our awareness of what is happening and the ability to use the situation in our own interests to achieve the desired goals and previously set tasks!
